  1. Thanks Dan and Bill. I took the wheels off and visually checked the axle. No sign of it been bent at all. I probably should have measured with a tape. Anyways, repacked the bearings and increased the tire pressure to 45 psi. I will see if the problem persists, if yes, I will take it to a garage and have the axle replaced.
  2. Thanks Sinker. Eastons does seem a bit far from me.
  3. As I said, I am not mechanically savvy and don't feel comfortable in dealing with things like "camber" or "toe". If someone can recommend a trailer shop that fixes this in the GTA, I would really appreciate it.
  4. So based on reading spincast and irishfield's posts, it looks like I do have a under inflation problem. If that is the case, then I should see wear on both edges of both tires, which is not the case. This really confuses me. I definitely would like to have a trailer shop look at the axle and spindle. Anybody know a good trailer shop in the GTA?
  5. Ahh, good point! Sorry I am not mechanically savvy and did not know what "seat the bead" mean until a moment ago after some googling. So I will inflate to 45 psi. This under inflation could be part of the problem if not THE only problem... hopefully. The wear is on the outside edge of the curb side tire. I don't know if I was driving too close to the curb. I will pay attention next time when I tow.
  6. I have no idea. How can I find out? Or where can I take it for an inspection and get it fixed?
  7. It is very confusing on the tire side wall. One place says "Max load 670 kg (1480lb) at 350kPa (50psi) cold", while another place under "Safty warning" on the same tire says "Never exceed 220 kPa (32 psi) Pressure". Should I do 32 or 50 psi? I have always maintained 32 psi for both tires because of that "warning", since the other tire does not have uneven wear problem at all, I assume the pressure is ok, otherwise, I probably would have wear on both edges of both tires. That's why I was suspecting alignment or balancing issue originally.
  8. Thanks Glen. It is bias I guess. It's Carlisle ST185/80D13. I checked tire pressure and it is the same for both tires (32 psi as recommended on the tire).
  9. Hi all, While inspecting my trailer tires, I found severe un-even wear on the outside edge of one of the tires (feathering?). The rest of the tire and the other tire are completed normal. I am wondering if any of you have had the same issue and could help me out here: 1) What could have caused the issue? I checked the bearing and bearing buddy, grease level is very low, but did not find any water or free play in the hub. Will repack the bearing anyways just in case. 2) If wheel alignment is off or need balancing, where can I take it to get it corrected. I tried Canadian Tire, but they don't service boat trailers. I am attaching a picture of the tire here: Thanks in advance! Alex
  10. It's a Buick Enclave 2012 (Not a hybrid). It is indeed not a common feature but very convenient.
  11. After one hour of running the fan, the battery meter barely moved, WHOO-HOO!
  12. Hi Dan, I am lucky that in addition to the cig lighter, the vehicle comes with an AC outlet that says "120V MAX 150W" on it. I just tested it and the fan works. Still testing the battery by allowing the fan to run for one hour, and I will find out how much battery will be drained from the battery meter. Thanks! Alex
  13. I found a mini AC fan that I bought long time ago, which says "120V, 0.2A", so I guess it is equivalent to a 25w bulb, not sure how long my car battery can last if I let the fan run continuously, but worst scenario, I still have a booster pack as Dan suggested. So no worries there.
  14. Thanks to all your input, here is the final solution with screen and magnetic tape. Good thing is the actual glass window inside can move freely up and down, depending on how wide I want it open.
  15. Good point, a thermacell or a mini mosquito trapper / killer is probably needed inside the vehicle, as those mosquitoes are known to get in the vehicle and play hide and seek...
  16. I will see if I could find those magnets from some stores. Also I will get a booster pack just in case. Luckily my vehicle comes with an AC outlet, so no need to do the wiring for the fan. That said, I think I am good to go. Thanks everybody for your help! This is an excellent forum with many great members like you, who are always willing to help. So thanks again and see you on the water!
  17. Yes crack heads are actually my original safety concern , not bears...
  18. I do have a bear-phobia, but I definitely feel safer in a car than in a tent. This year, I will probably stay close to the lakes with provincial parks near Toronto, and may venture further north once I am more comfortable with it.
  19. Thanks Dan. A fan would be really nice, as long as it does not drain my the battery and I can start the car next morning...
  20. Thanks Bill. That will work and save me $$ as well!
  21. Happy Monday everyone, I am planning to take a few days off while summary is still here and do some much needed fishing. I will tow the boat and fish during the day and sleep in the SUV at night. In order to make the SUV more comfortable to sleep in, I am thinking about installing window visors to bring fresh air in and keep the rain out. However, none of the visors on the market comes with bug screen. I am sure some of the OFC members here have done this before, how do you keep the bugs out while leaving the window open? If you know of a product I can order online or a DIY solution, that would be great. Also, I am curious where people park their vehicle and sleep when they do this type of fishing. Safety is my main concern. Thanks and happy fishing!
  22. To make you feel better, I was charged $40 two weeks ago by Gloucester Pool Resort Marina for launching a small boat and parking. I was there around 8:00am and the owner was not there. I launched and parked anyway without knowing how much it would cost. Launching fee was not posted anywhere. When I came back a few hours later and went to pay, the owner told me $40 ($10 in $10 out, $10 for my vehicle and $10 for the trailer parking). Saw another boat owner who told me the same happened to him. We just shook our heads and left... Now I am wondering whether the owner was hiding in the morning intentionally...
  23. Thanks Mike. Unfortunately no one in the group is into fishing except for me.
  24. Thanks again everyone. That's a lot of info to digest. Will do further research tomorrow based on the great info here and then decide. Safety is indeed a concern.
  25. Thanks everyone for your great suggestions! Honey Harbor in GBay or Lake Rosseau is looking good! Can you please also recommend a good boat ramp for Honey Harbor and Rosseau?
