  1. No thanks....ugly little sucker....I can't imagine what other creatures are lurking in the deep waters. Almost makes me want to give up fishing - almost.

Beware.......these are not deep water fish!! ankle to knee deep water is where you'll usually spot em!

  2. ...but I'll sure be listening more carefully to the next pro-greeny I might otherwise be inclined to laugh off.

How many warnings is it gonna take? Or are we just gonna keep abusing the Earth until it finally quits on us? Perhaps that's what we really deserve anyway.

Is there anyone out there who disagrees? Who votes for allowing big industry and gutless governments to continue to destroy the planet for profits? Who is unwilling to give up any creature comforts for the sake of the planet?

You said it man! Can we really go back...no. Not at this point anyways. The friggin planet runs on oil at this point. Whether you wear it or what you wear was made by it, crude is all around us.....and it'll probably be the end of us as well. Wars, environmental devastation, poverty. Its all right there and has been for decades. I imagine it'll only get worse. This simply touches on what can actually go wrong.

  3. (shhhh) You can actually take carp on the fly (shhhh). Don't say that out loud tonka or the luddites on this forum will run you out of town! https://www.msu.edu/~connert/carpfly.htm I'm currently experimenting with catching carp on the troll. I'm waiting for the weather to change because it has been too cold post spawn. Bullhead are certainly taking lures.

They just might even be fun to stalk on the fly......what was that I read one time about carp being fresh water bonefish??

  4. sick isn't it.....all of it.

It gets worse every year, and theres nothing that any of us can really do about it. Southern Ontario is highly populated, and it'll just continue to grow and grow. There are ignorant asses in every race/religion/creed/whatever, but, the fact is that it will continue to happen. Some people open their mouths and do something about it, some dont, but either way, nothing positive happens in the end. Its always the same.

The pigs will always be out there as they've always been.

  5. I think I am going to add the Huron tribs to my repetoire this year...or maybe next...Lake O too Low and Notty too stained...Huron woulda be a perfect solution,..but I guess you guys already know that..lol Too bad you didnt get more pics...but I bet Han solo has a bunch!!!

I aint no pro, but I don't think thats a huron trib...well, not entirely anyways :whistling: . I could be wrong, but a couple of those rocks look mighty familiar...

    Nice job out there boys!

  6. It was good to see you again Mike - yesterday was definitely the highlight of my Spring Steelhead season. It really, really tough to tear myself away for that meeting!

Something tells me that tackle/fly shops in the province are soon going to be sold out of Stonefly numphs :P

As for the pattern, I was using a couple different ones. The one with the copper wire rib is a small Montana Stone pattern. The larger one is a standard pattern that's available at most shops (known as Kaufmann's Stonefly nymph - just Google it.). Bead head, rubber legs, turkey quill wingcases).

Excellent...lots of Kaufmans in my box....I'll have to tie up some montanas for tomorrow!

  7. ugh... when I hear kountry I think of finger nails on a chalk board..

Yup.....that about sums it up for me too.

Anywhere from 1 to 4 hours of those dudes gets me where I need to go!

  8. Gorgeous color on those fish, man. I wish the bass we catch down hear looked like the ones you guys have. My PB smallmouth came from Wisconsin and had a similar coloration to that one. I really wish I had a pic of that fish.

I think thats a largemouth BB.
