  1. I will lose the ability to engage the prop but still have the ability to turn left / right. Similar to Rob C if I reset or simply unplug from socket all functionality returns.

The three times this has happens was twice on scugog and once on pigeon while trolling through the weeds. I assume(d) this was by design to protect the motor when the prop gets all hung up on cabbage? Fished 7 days straight on a lake with minimal weed cover or little that came close to the surface anyway and didn't incure any problems.

  2. Spent the week on Balsam last week. Targeted muskie with zero success, switched to SMB around Hogg Island (careful of the rocks) which proved to be successful but found the most action while pitching lures near & under docks in quite bays early in the morning for LMB.

  3. Long story short. Had a Port Perry service shop weld a new skeg & general maintenance package on my '94 40hp. $600 later I take the boat home, two weeks later I purchased a new boat in Parry Sound. Parry Sound fellas mount my 40hp onto the new Legend Pro and while doing so the "new' welded skeg breaks off....Parry Sound says the weld was brutal but owned up to breaking it and had it welded again (a much better job mind you) at their expense! = good customer services.

Fast forward 3 weeks and boat goes for its maiden voyage, only put 10min on it maybe and operated okay a few hicups but nothing to crazy for sitting all winter. Now I take my son out for some fishing and the outboard was brutal with severe jolting. Back to the ramp we go.....drop off at the Port Perry shop (sucker for punishment i am) and told them they owed me a favor for litterly stealing my $. Port Perry calls me and is now blaming the Parry Sound crew for not placing lower unit oil back in.

It has been 5 days now and Port Perry has still not begun to service my outboard. Just off an upleasant phone call telling me if I don't like their service to come pick it up :wallbash: . Now after this phone conversation I feel like they are really going to take me to the cleaners with an outragious bill.

    OMG I am so angry!

  4. Decided to get rid of my small boston whaler and picked up a 2009 Legend Prosport sc. During the negotiating I had the dealer add a new minn kota power drive troller on the bow (45lb).

Since I have never owned or used a trolling motor my question to y'all is what size deep cycle? And recommendations on brand and where to buy?

Can't wait for the maiden voyage!

  5. I'm sorry to start another resort search topic.

My wife surprised me when I asked what she wanted to do for our 10th wedding anniversay this October, I totally assumed to hear Cuba, Mexico etc...but she once again surprised me and suggested a full meal plan fishing / cottage resort get away :) I have always brought my own meals so I need suggestions to accomodate the wife's request of no cooking.

Ideally 4 hours or less drive from Durham region (willing to stretch this)

    Full meals provided

Species would ideally be in no particular order: Walley, Bass, Pike

  6. ... and then the serial number would be registered twice in Ontario Bill.. good luck with that one.

Did you get the vessel registration paper from Transport Canada / Service Canada amongst the paperwork from the previous owner. If so... fill in your name.. accompany it with a receipt from your email transfer via your bank and fire it in to Service Canada.

If you didn't get it... you have the original owners name.. 411 him and call him up, nothing to lose but a headache.

I did not get any type of registration papers other than signing over the trailer ownership. The vessel btw is a 50 year old classic BW. If I track down the previous owner and have him sign a bill of sale will I have enough to register under my name?

  7. Get a buddy to make up a hand written receipt, sign it, get new registration. Done.

Scrape the hull #'s off and put the new numbers on that you'll get from the ministry. I wouldn't be jumping through all kinds of hoops, but that's just me.

So the existing #'s on side of the boat will be replaced?

  8. Man, some people really jump on the cake with snowshoes. You're going to have to do the oath thingy. The numbers stay with the boat, the owners name changes. You now have to do the legwork to find the previous to auction owner, maybe you can get it through Service Canada. Hull number is on the right rear outside of the hull at the top. It's possible(no guarantee) that you can get the number run through CPIC if you know a friendly copper to get the original owner.

If I do the oath thingy why would I need to locate any previous owners?

  9. The Hull I D # need to be checked to see if it is stolen first. The registration # should yield the name and address of the owner of the boat so you can get a bill of sale.

    Best of luck

    Art

So how does on check the hull Id# Art.

  10. Bought a new to me used boat, as is. Paid via email money transfer and walked away without any type of receipt.... Ya my bad :(

Now when I submit my paper work for a vessel registration how will I go about proofing I am the owner? It would appear I can complete a declaration under oath form, has anyone ever done this?

The boat has a ontario # labeled on the side of the hull already, what do I do with this?

Basically looking for help on how to make my rig ligit.
