  1. Unfortunately my inlaws have found themselves in a rough patch and need to sell their farm. To eliminate any potential issues they need to remove their older (1980 something) but in great shape trailer off the property.

I thought to help them out I'd take it off there hands if I could find a park that will accept an older model trailer.

Anyone know or recommend a park? I'd prefer for maximum value to not travel any further then 2 hours from Whitby.

  2. I have fished the Montreal river many times but have never venture up to Evelyn. Until this year :) Our lodge is 5min from the fine gentlemen who I hear shuttles your boat up to the top for a minimal fee. Has anyone had much success fishing the strip of water leading into the main lake? I will be there first week of June targeting wally's and giant pike.

  3. Yep thats a fair price, but you should really try and find a fuel injected model. Soooo smooth. If my engine ever decides to quit (93 yamaha built 40hp mariner) thats what I will be bolting on the back of my starcraft.

    S.

You are correct. After all of the 'other' fees (controls, cables, prop, etc) and install the price tag jumps beyond my budget. I have decided to save for another year and start my search again for a fuel injected 4 stroke next year.

  4. I'm no expert when it come to motors but i have a bit of knowledge and i know people that know there stuff. Just wondiner what is the make of your current one is it also a Yamaha

Current is a 1994 Force by Mercury. Runs good and pushes my 16' legend to 30mph but I'm looking for a quieter, less exhaust and fuel efficient 4 stroke. Not brand loyal simply looking for any motor that meets my needs within my price budget.

  5. Sorry, its remote side console. Gut feeling has nothing to do with the lower unit work as it has performed great all season up until now. Possible the fast idle was not all the way down...i'll double check that and hope that is all it was :).

Performance regardless is fine. Speed, planning etc..all normal so I am leaning towards a hopeful adjustment that some how changed while out last weekend.

  6. All was well running outboard on my last trip out (all season actually, had new lower end installed) but when I got back to the ramp it acted up on me. When I shift the throttle into forward I hear the rpms increase but it didn't engage into gear....give it a tad more or less throttle and BANG into gear it went. If I had a passenger standing they would go for a tumble + it can't be good for it to jump into gear at higher rpm's.

1994 40hp (get ready for it) Force by Mercury. Lets save the Force bashing for another thread :)

    Any tips would be appreciated.

  7. I am not sure of your situation (what fish you want to target or size of boat you have if any) but I'd suggest you go perch fishing out of Port Bruce. An hour drive and you are likely fishing within another 30 mins more (providing you have the right gear - boat, setup).

1.5 hours you are at launch in Long Point inner bay else likely Lake St. Clair.

Wildwood just isn't worth the $25 entry fee for me to fishing such a pressured body of water and typically large amount of boat traffic if its a nice day.

If you do go to Wildwood, pike and bass are in there. Work for them. I docked there for 3 years when I first became a boat owner. My relic boat at the time and unseasoned boating skills matched well for the water. :)

Hopefully this is helpful. Tight lines and fair winds.

Launching my 16' Legend SC and prefer to target SMB and LMB with the odd accidental Pike. Wishful thinking the water will not be over busy mid / late September.
