  1. Most of the fishing I've ever done in Nippising has been in the south bay region of the lake and the french river. Smallmouth fishing can be excellent at certain times when they come in fairly shallow! Spinnerbaits, Crankbaits, Grubs, Tubes, WHATEVER! Have fun because fishing there can be absolutely silly.

  2. Brian! I'm really not sure what the next level is either? I was quoting Tom Bedell, chaiman of Pure Fishing! He seems to think that this sale has a real plus side to it or I don't think they would have sold the company to just anyone. I personally have no complaints about any of the Pure Fishing products I've purchased over the years myself and wish them even greater success with the new BOSS!

  3. Any OFNers know of good tournament circuits run in southeastern NY State? I've been wanting to do some buddy tournaments with my cousin from Connecticutt who is a hardcore bass fisherman! This area is a good half way point for the both of us and a real great opportunity to spend a lot more time together doing what we both love. I've fished Champlain a fair bit with him but want to fish other waters such as Oneida Lake and the Hudson River near Catskills. Has anyone fished these waters? Hows the fishing? Any general information that could be used to start would be greatly appreciated. e.g. water color, angling methods used, baits/color and possibly areas to look at?

  4. I think it's great news for Pure Fishing! Sometimes it's needed whereby a company of this magnitude needs the financial support of another corporation in order to expand it's brand lines. Hopefully as mentioned that Jarden Corp. can take it to the next level? It would be very sad to see this backfire after all the hard work, dedication and money invested in such an acquisition.

  5. Just found out the CFT will be closing it's doors. They claim there's not enough angler support and it's just not financially viable to continue with running the circuit. Any comments from fellow OFNers?

I'd like to properly make my introduction to the OFC family I'm the finfan and a newby to this site. I've been reading some of the discussions and it's really nice to see such a tightly knit group on OFC. I know I'm going to enjoy this alot and make new friends in the process! This is my first posting and I want to say hello to everyone out there.

  6. Wonderful to hear things are going well for you! My sister had a kidney transplant over 10 years ago and she is doing great and what makes it even more special is that my other sister was the donor and they are much closer as a result. Always keep a positive outlook and enjoy yourself because being on dialysis really sucks. Good on you buddy! and to all the OFC family, PLEASE! it costs you nothing to sign your donor cards. Lives depend on it! :thumbsup_anim:

  8. I'd just like to say that a good attitude is everything! If you carry a big ego don't expect to get far in any competitive sport. People can quickly see right through that and generally avoid that kind of behaviour. In my opinion some anglers need to come down to an approachable level and then and only then will things start to change for them and the sport. I do hope that my views don't offend anyone because I love competitive fishing just as much as the next guy. Let's have exceptional attitudes when we talk to potential sponsors and newcomers to this fantastic sport. :thumbsup_anim:
