It isn't just the PC's doing the downsizing of the MNR, the Libs had done it when they were in power. I bet it can go back to the NDP too. Not many tax paying Ontarians give a hoot about the MNR anyway.

Please read my response above. Ask the majority of Ontario taxpayers if they would rather have a tax hike or have funding cut in the MNR I know what the answer would be, including so called environmentalists.

I don't care about who is in government I care about the resources. I would rather have a tax hike to save our natural resources and I am sure that you didn't s[peak to a majority of Ontario taxpayers.

  2. Its just the beginning with the present government. I can see them cutting back on environmental protection of our lakes and rivers and cut backs to the natural resources ministry next year. If one believes that this is not the case then you live in a glass house. For me its a non starter if a sitting government starts to play with our  natural resources.

  3. Well I managed to cook up 6 baby back ribs ( cooked for 5 hrs at 200F) and 2 lbs of chicken wings ( cooked 3 hrs at 200F) and they came out fantastic. I used bourbon barrel wood chips and a bit of mesquite wood chips. My kitchen smelt like smoke the next morning!! Good sign that the food was good? Nothing left for left overs!!

All you have to clean in an electric smoker is the racks.  Before you use that smoker for the first time with food in it, you should put a couple pans of smoke through it EMPTY to burn off any chemicals/solvents/etc from the manufacturing process.

    thanks for the tips Shag

    Looks great!
I was never into electric smokers for some reason... How is the maintenance of this thing, cleaning?

I have no idea mamona. I just took it out of the box yesterday. Looks pretty easy to clean. You have a couple of containers for the wood chips and they slide in and out so I assume you just slide out the used stuff and dump it. Saturday is the big day for smoking ribs and chicken wings.

I agree with there's no excuse; but I'd also would like to know what the "innocent" boater did? When I had my 16' tinny, I cannot count the number of times that I've been cut off, all but capsized or damn near run over; by these innocent cabin cruiser drivers/owners. Something set that drunk off; but again he shouldn't have done what he did.

    Dan

I was boating back downriver under the fort Erie peace bridge when some clown in a cabin cruiser was coming up river. Anyone who has gone through this current knows that it is a bit hairy under the peace bridge. The operator opened her up just before we met and he threw a 4 foot wave at my boat. Boy was I pissed. Some of these cruiser operators think that they own the right of way because of their size. I am not defending the guy in the smaller boat at all. He should have been charged so it was the correct outcome. What he should have done besides not being drunk was to call the police on the cruiser operator if he did something dangerous to the smaller boat.

I am sure that we have all seen this one. The guy driving the cruiser saw this boat from a distance away yet still managed to run them over.
