My sincere condolences Lew.I'm a "lurker" typically but you have had some very difficult hills to climb in the last few years and I fell compelled to reach out and say something.I truly hope you can overcome your personal losses.Few are tested as you have been Lew.God bless your families.

Am presently looking at a 10 year old Tracker Targa,17 foot aluminum boat. It's got a 60 horse Merc tiller model.Anyways folks, are these a well made boat.I have owned Starcrafts before and felt they were well built. How would Trackers compare....Thanks.

As i remember it, When Chrysler went backrupt in the late 70's, the governmnet made them sell off there boat division and force marine was invented then bought by merc, Good motors easy to work on if your handy, but marine mechanics will not touch them because its very hard to get parts.
What size is on the boat?
It's a 50 horse on a 16 footer.1986 vintage.

Does anyone have experience with a Force outboard.I have found a nice boat but one of these is hanging on the back.It apparently runs well. Are these made by OMC or a major player?

Hey Brian I have a pair of these in my stash and they are well worth the money. They handle downrigging, straight line and inline planer boards with ease and are more than adequate for salmon and trout.Better balance than my slightly more expensive Eagle Claws.

Keep it up. 2.5 years for me. This is my real second attempt. First one lasted seven months, actually I did a full six months in Bosnia and not even a drag. Got back to Canada went on Excercise, got bored, so I asked for a puff as my driver was smoking. GAME OVER. This time I learned from my mistake. My wife has quit at the same time and her motivation is saving money. Mine was health, especially after a few bubblys. Felt like Sh@#@# the next morning, especially my lungs. Just a note. The old Cancerous lung in the case never worked for me when I was in school, but ironically, when I was being wheeled into the operating room for screws in my ankle, I noticed on the upper wall an anti-smoking poster that I will never forget. A colored picture of an ashtray shaped like a pair of lungs with butts and ashes in it. For some reason I can't forget about it. Never seen that poster since. Maybe too explicit. Anyhow good luck. Keep it up. Yea I gained a few pounds, but thats an easier fix.
That's a truism.Never seen an Atkins Diet yet that grew lungs.

Gander Mountain in Port Huron is great but you'll probably have to pass Pro Bait on Pine Grove Ave near the Bridge itself.Worth your time to stop in there for a look around.

Congrats Camillj.Set goals as you have done, i.e first day on a stream,on a boat etc.Don't give in until you reach those goals and by then it will be even more bearable.I just passed 17 months myself after a pack+/day for 24 years. You are certainly capable of losing the smokes, and gaining 25 lbs.Its worth it Camillj, you'll feel better and fish longer.Best of luck.

Thanks for the responses so far folks. The pontoon diameter is 24" and the thickness is .100".

I am considering an 18' pontoon boat for fishing and putting around. This would be instead of a 17-18' aluminum V hull. Most fishing is done on lower Lake Huron and within 20 minutes of shelter.Traditionally a pontoon seems to be a small water vessel but I'd love the space and versatility a pontoon boat can offer. Will I regret this choice or not folks? Sorry folks I'm new here and almost forgot(thanks for the edit feature)to say hello and I'm looking forward to jumping in and contributing where I can.
What's it worth?
