  1. Jigger, I had the same issue after the marina cracked the cowling on my Merc when they were servicing it. They denied cracking it, but eventually I got them to admit to it and do the repair. I believe they used epoxy and fiberglass. It's not perfect or nice to look at, but it set well and does the trick. If you decide to go this route, you will want to let it cure for awhile and probably will want to do most of the work on the inside of the cowling so that it is not too unsightly.

  2. Hello folks.I have a Mariner o/b with a badly cracked cowling.I am not sure what it is made of but appears to be some type of structural foam...don't think it's fiberglass.I have searched around for a replacement but have had no luck.Anyone here ever try their hand at repairing something like this.Epoxy,fiberglass...I'd like an idea as to what would be compatible before I try something and it ruins it further or makes any other method impossible to apply.Any opinions or experiences would be great to hear.

    Thanks.

  3. Looking at a home that needs a downstairs bathroom and is on a septic tank.Beyond the obvious(toilet shower costs) what are the requirments and costs of sinking in a tank and pump to move the goods 25' to the tank. This would be done from a room that has the collector and is the outside wall facing the tank.It is the best case scenario for location but I don't know the ramifications of cutting in a tank and adding a pump.Any advice would be greatly appreciated as our house is basically sold and the next one should happen quick.

  4. Stay away from Kipawa until early June.Six of us went to a boat-in around May 24 4 years ago.Beautiful Lake but the fish (except Lakers) were still locked down. Some may disagree but don't go too soon.Ice out I believe that year,2004,was about May 15 and we had to work hard for a fish dinner.Give it a week or so into June and I would bet you will have a riot.

  5. See if you can get a reasonable Toyota Tacoma. I don't have one but have read numerous accounts that they are one of the best small trucks on the road.

I have it's BIG brother, a 2007 Toyota Tundra and so far (one year) it's the best truck I have owned. Just don't ask about the gas mileage. :)

    Good Luck truck fishing,

    Bob

Oh yeah.We had one out for a test drive and it was a beauty. The salesman even said the Chev in a 4x4 would get much better mileage than the equivalent Tundra but the Tundra was so much better built.Toyota would be a definite option but as yet....any used Tacoma has 75k or more on it.It seems Toyota drivers are frequent drivers.

  6. Just a question people. When I recieve p.m's , they appear in my inbox......when I send them they never appear in my sent items. Is there any trick to this?I am trying to deal with a fellow member in the classifieds and not sure if I am getting through.
