  1. Excellent fish Andre !!! You are right about the waveswallbash.gif The 3 mile run back to the launch was and adrenaline rush for sure. 2-3 foot chop really through around my litle 16'. Mike is sposed to take the wife and i out for walleye in the near future. This time as a friend, and as a first customer tooclapping.gif

Thanks Paul. I saw you heading back in there. Looked like fun! wink.gif

Hey what is that yellow pole in the center of your boat if you don't mind me asking? Just curious.

  2. Thanks guys. A bit disappointed because of the lack of consistency. Like I said I started the weekend off with a bang and then my pattern dissipated. I was catching 4 per hour in the first 2-3hrs and thought I'm onto something for sure and then had a harder time finding regularity after that. Only a few fish here and there type-thing. They either moved off the spots I was fishing or stopped biting. You have to understand too that Musky Mike and the other walleye guys out there set the bar pretty high so I want to try my best to keep up. biggrin.gif In all honesty these are tough waters to fish so I'm pretty happy. And yes it beats working, or a kick in the teeth!

    Thanks for the responses. Cheers.

  3. Hi folks, just thought I'd share my first report before hitting the hay and going back to reality (work) tomorrow morning. The fishing was tough for me this weekend with the exception of Saturday morning where I did fairly well. I caught about 8 walleyes and a pike that morning with one of the walleyes just over 6. The rest were anywhere from 1.5 to 3lbs. The fishing was better for me in the morning than evenings this weekend, which is usually the opposite and I was pretty much skunked in the heat of the day except for a fish here and there. One thing's for sure, it beat being at work or at home on the couch. ;)

Anyway, here are some of the highlights (I included a smallish pike because they're rare now where we fish). Sorry about the pics not being the greatest it's hard when you're alone in the boat and pounded by a steady west wind. Just ask Mercman and Musky Mike about that wind on Saturday.

I haven't perched yet this year has it been good? Not sure if I've seen your boat. I know your brother's but I don't think I've seen yours yet. I'll be in that area too looking for walleyes. Not sure when you guys go in but feel free to text me if you want to come by the dock for a cold one after you fish.

  5. Dana, I agree. I've checked out a few fishing forums and it would have taken days to garner this many responses already. Looks like a lot of great folks here.

Mike, thanks for the welcome and the kind words, and for liking my hundreds of videos ha ha.

Good luck with your guiding business too. I read the other thread. I'm sure you'll do great.

I'll be on the water all weekend don't be a stranger if you see me. Cheers.

  6. welcome to the OFC Jigs!! Great vid as well...lots of pretty fillets swimming away there..good on ya bud!!

Indeed! But I have just as much fun releasing them as eating 'em. Plus I'm lazy about filleting so it all works out.

Once in a while one of them takes one for the team though. biggrin.gif

Thanks everyone. Really impressed with how busy this place is for a fishing forum. Good stuff!

  7. Hi folks, I came across this place early last week and have been reading threads and posts and finally decided to join. I am pretty impressed with how busy this forum is and how many really good fishermen are here and the quality of the information. I fish the same waters as Musky Mike in the Cornwall area, probably not as well as he does mind you but I hold my own. tongue.gif

I figured I'd start with introducing myself with a little cheesy video I made. I can't get any of my buddies to watch it so maybe I'll have better luck with people who are as nuts about fishing as I am, ha ha. I hope the video helps share the pleasure and satisfaction I get out of releasing fish. I release 90+ percent of my walleyes. I hope that if people come and fish our waters it will encourage them to do the same.

Cheers and nice to meet all of you! Jigs.
