  1. 1) Little Cleo

She was a hootchie-kootchie girl who for 43 years had her dancer's image stamped on the back of a fishing lure. A New York City songwriter named Charlie Clark saw Little Cleo perform during the 1930s; when he developed this popular spoon with its wiggling, dancing action in 1953, she became its namesake. In 1996 a female employee of a major retailer took offense at the dancer's image on the lure, and for the sake of newfound political correctness, the image was removed by Acme Tackle of Rhode Island, the current manufacturer. Little Cleo spoons are thick in proportion to their surface area, so they fish relatively deep. This makes them a favorite trout spoon, but in sizes ranging from 1/16 to 11/4 ounce, they're suitable for everything from panfish to steelhead and stripers.

  3. While your at it....call the President of the USA to abolish the second ammendment...OUR ride here in Canada has been free to OUR government to prosper ...Like it or not ....WE are the problem...not the natives....if the treaties were honoured then the indigenous peoples wouldnt be on the brink of assimilation and would be equally as wealthy as our Government when it comes to profit from the resources their/our land yields....Dont forget ...this is their house...we are bad tennents that have been trying to take it from them for hundreds of years...Im not trying to single you out here...but before you make a bold statement of ignorance ...you need to do your homework on the subject so you dont look like a follower of ignorance...

we used to have 25 in our hunting party and it was nothing to see 8 to 17 dead deer laying on the ground after the hunt...the fact that these are Wapiti is a bit disturbing but the natives live in harmony with the land so im sure the is a justifiable cull for this area...

Well said Twocoda. Sooo much I would like to say, but I will take the high road on this one.mellow.gif

  4. Blizz- you have got yourself between a rock and a hard placewallbash.gif couple thing you can do- shim the toilet up,which will leave an unsightly gap between the floor and the bottom of the toilet or rip out the flange and pipe below and lower it down. You are a little bit out of my travel area so offering my help in person is outta the question. Lol The rubber seals won't help either. You won't be able to tighten the nuts down enough to make the toilet solid. You will probably cracks the bowl first.

    Happy New Year

I promised my wife I would redo her bathroom for a Christmas present. All was going well till we installed the new flusher.

I never had one leak before, always used the wax seal with the plastic insert.

When we took the old one out we noticed the floor flange was considerably higher than the ones in our old house in Barrie.

Once installed water was leaking between the flusher and the floor, trickling. The wax ring was spread out like pizza dough.

the plastic was literally against the porcelan. Tried a wax ring without the plastic, same result.

Tried a newer product from the hardware store a rubber flange that sticks to the horn still leaks.

We are in a mobile up here with no basement, it has a belly pan underneath which I do not want to cut. The hardware store sells thinner flanges which would allow some of the wax to stay inbetween but I cant get under neath to cut the old one out.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated as the ice fishing gear :( is feeling very neglected.

    Thanks

  5. like i said, "our" rules do not apply as soon as you cross onto six nations land. but, seeing as non natives aren't suppose to live on the reserve, i'm not sure if a non native is even permitted to hunt there or not. i'll have to get back to you on that one as i'd love to hunt out there. :canadian:

The hunter that was shot did have permission to hunt that area from the land owner. I have never had any issues on the reserve, have never felt that my life was in danger. Hunting accidents happen every year. Regardless of were it happens it is a terrible tragedy.

  6. I was thinking about doing a weekend trip to Weslemkoon Lake later this summer and was wondering if there are any campgrounds (for tents) on the lake at all?

    Any help is much appreciated!

Pretty sure that lakes all fished out, come to think of it I think it dried up with all this hot weather we have been getting. Lolsarcasm.gif

  7. I was out for a walk this afternoon and came across a small feeder stream that had atleast 2 dozen browns. They were anywhere from fingerings to a couple pounds each. Couldn't believe my eyes. They were mixed in with a bunch of small largemouth. Wish I had of had my camera with me. May have to go back later and take some pics. It was great to see them good sign of a healthy water system clapping.gif

  8. Put a stiff 20lb mono or fluoro leader on or it will constantly get caught up in your trebles, with the leader it will fish great.

X2 I do the same with a 20# fluoro. The bait caster is spooled with 14# camo braid. Never have any issues, pretty much pull the boat around if need be. rolleyes.gif
  9. There's no fish over there :whistling:

I've caught some nice eyes over the years in Bark--big smallies as well

Have to agree with bushart. Nofish in hay/drizzle or bark lakes. sarcasm.gif

When I get some time I will pm ya some info
