  1. Taking a trip to BC this summer to do some kayaking. Space is limited, so I'm considering purchasing a travel rod, 6' or 6'6", medium action, 3 or 4 piece. Will probably just tack one of my existing reels onto it. You folks know of any rods I should take a close look at, or have suggestions regarding rods I should waste my time with?

This strikes me as a topic that may have come up before, but when searching for "travel rod", 20 pages came up! I figured that starting a new thread would be the best use of my time.

    Thanks for any help!

  2. Any others care to chime in?

Old trick I've used for years on small engines,Give a couple squirts of Ronsons lighter fluid into carb 1st

Give her a pull, she will probably start right up.

This will work in a pinch,But will not "fix" whatever the true problem is.

  3. My Fishing Buddy is looking to buy a New fish finder.

His budget is up to $1000.00

He asked me to do some research to help him.

So I figured what better place than right here!

    All replies appreciated.

    Thanks everyone

    Best Regards

  4. Actually I did switch to a Johnson Silver Minnow for about an hour, but it didn't produce anything. As a sidenote, is it necessary to add anything to the hook of the silver minnow or can you just cast it as is?

I have always added a Twin tail (like mister twister) to the silver minnow.

  5. I was browsing through a recent issue of Field and Stream Magazine, a US based publication, also known the FOX News of Outdoor magazines (.. ok maybe that is a bad example...)

I came across an insert on the years Canadian Fishing Regulations.. and lo and behold there is no mention of the imposter "walleye", but only the venerable mighty "pickerel" is mentioned.

    Hmmfff.. CASE CLOSED
