  1. I tried on 3 different computers with no luck. did you do anything different on your second try? it seems pretty straight forward. plug the new chip in, unplug, plug in your old chip, and that's where it says it cant update.... i'll give them another call Monday. its just tough during the day when i'm working

  2. what are the battery specs? as in. group? Amp hours? deep cycle? the little test lights on the trolling motor are only an indication of the battery voltage as a state of health. a bad battery can have full voltage but limited reserve capacity

another thing is to check if you have some fishing line wrapped around your trolling motor prop shaft as this will cause a heavy load...

  3. the readiness monitors should all be ready as long as you have not cleared dtcs, disconnected your battery, or there is a pending dtc and it is monitoring the data to see if a dtc should be set.

heres how to "try" and get the monitors "ready".

start with 1/2 to 3/4 of a tank of gas. evap monitors wont run with a full tank or almost empty tank

Step 1. The vehicle must have sit for 8 hours, without a start. This is required for the EVAP Monitor in some makes, and especially true for some Fords that include a 6 to 8 hour cold soak as part of the EVAP Monitor enabling criteria.

Step 2.Warm the engine to normal operating temperature before driving it.

Step 3. Drive the vehicle for 10 minutes at highway speeds.

Step 4. Drive the vehicle for 20 minutes in stop and go traffic with at least four idle periods.

Do not turn the ignition off during the cycle. You can connect a scan tool and take a

passenger along to watch the Monitor test status display to inform you when all the

    Monitors have run to Completion.

oh, just saw that link that tells you the same info... this was straight from the repair tech manual

  4. Anyone know a place near mississauga that carrys the Striker Ice hardwater jackets/bibs? or have a recommendation for a similar 2 piece floater suit that has the ice fisherman in mind? I can order it online, but i'd perfer to try it on and get the right fit. my 1 piece floater is too restrictive for my liking. The venting on the striker suit is what i really like as I drag a pretty big sled and if its a long walk the venting would be nice :)

  5. A friend of mine had his garage door frame and track cut and put on hinges so when the garage door is open he can swing the bottom 3 feet of the frame and track inward to allow his boat to fit. he gained atleast half a foot by doing this. and if your handy, a lot cheaper than buying a new trailer

  6. Hey, I'm looking to rent a cottage from oct 19-21 on a lake that has musky bass and possibly walleye on it. My sister and her bf are going to be visiting from sweden and he's a fishing nut like me :) so i'd like to catch a musky and atleast hook onto some nice bass since they have neither fish over there. send me a pm if you have rented a cottage or have one to rent

    Thanks

  7. make sure to make differnt receipts for the boat, motor and trailer... it'll save on taxes. If the engine is not apart i'm unsure how the mechanic could tell it was only 1 cylinder that was damaged.. little or no compression? a nock noise? is the paint burnt or peeling on the engine block? if it is, i'd think there is more damage or since you are friends, maybe you could get it to the marina have it taken apart and make sure its just the one bearing and then make an offer. looks like a nice ride. btw i have a 16.5ft lowe with a 1999 90 mariner and it'll run 42mph 2 ppl and full tank of gas

  8. I had a blow out on the 401 at 3:30 on a sunday afternoon with no spare..... ended up measuring the hub size and distance between the lugs with a piece of paper and left the boat on the side of the road, raced to crappy tire and could only find a 12" tire on rim..... I guess i got lucky since i left the lake early, if it was past 5 i'd be stuck

I recommended changing the tires every 5-6 years or when they're worn. There is a D.O.T. number stamped on the side, the last 4 digits are the week and year it was produced 4505 is 45th week of 2005, if its only 3 digits, its in the 90's....

btw, i'm also running a 16.5ft lowe :) nice stable smaller boat
