  1. Took 3 days for the cards to be "approved".

I told two employees exactly this "There is a simple way to solve this problem - you hand me a new gift card, and YOU figure out why this one doesn't work"

    No such luck...

Good to hear the problem has been fixed.

  2. Bill, he left BPS and is at SAIL now... :whistling:

What I am trying to say is there are many great fishermen out there do know about fishing and are dedicated to the fishing industry. BPS or SAIL, associates help many customer everyday and they are very happy with the service we provided.

I agreed knowledge is important when it comes to fishing, smart company do not hire people base on knowledge. The whole package needs to include knowledge, personality, team player and availability. Knowledge alone don’t make a good salesmen.

  3. I never go into big box stores (Sail/BPS) and expect some in-depth fishing recommendations from any of the staff. Let's be realistic, most of them aren't fisherman and even if they are, most of us here probably know more then they do anyhow. I'm not trying to come off as an ass, but it is what it is.. If I can go to a big box store and save a few bucks I will. I don't go into any fishing store looking for advice, I'll figure that out all on my own.

if you don't know the fact, do not make the assumption. But for those who think they know everything, then not much I can do about it.

  4. As far as I know Shimano is still doing their best to stand behind their products. the fact is if too many people abusing the warranty, the tighter the service will be. if the rod was broken because of abuse, miss use or accident, don't try to get it replace, sure they will take it back and give you a new one, but when it starting to hurt their bottom line, the next guy with a real "defects" rod may have a hard time to get service.

About retailer doing over the counter, it is up to the store, best is take it back to where you brought it since the retail should fulfills the after sells service. If the customer choose to use another retailer, a service charge should be apply but again it is up to the store. I was working in the store yesterday and a customer came in and mentioned his crucial rod broke and the store he purchase the rod from is no longer in business, he was not sure what to do, we took the rod and told him we will sent out the rod for replacement, no charge.

  5. Bass Pro dont sell the TOWNSEND skinner but they do carry their own brand, same concept, a lot less money compare to the TOWNSEND.

  6. I would be angry too if I saw some moron in a boat taking pictures of my stuff. You are definitely a very big loser mister. Get a life! This guy obviously has a family and judging by that slide there are kids around. I have a similar setup and find lures and hooks everywhere mostly stuck in little kids. This guy is protecting the children from YOUR lures. Move on! There are thousands of lakes out there and true fishermen catch in natural habitats anyways. Not under someone's dock. Your such a loser!

Nothing wrong to protect your kids, but dont post fake sign, what if my little boy want to bike on the street outside of my house, should I put some fake road close sign on the street to prevent cars drive thu the street?

  7. So your wife's the expert, you don't understand it, and you're telling him it's his fault for not being aware. Are you the pot or the kettle?

The reason you paid such a high penalty is that the CRA charges you a 1% penalty for each month your account is in an overage status. It's a bit of a hiccup in the system.

I read all the links, looks like I am not the only one got confused by the government. Thanks for the infor. They really need to have all the information available to the public, (I mean outside of the virtual world), the bank should provide the information to the customers, you see not every one have a wife work at the bank.

  8. My wife and I have been contributing to it since it was rolled out. I think it is a great tool to help save for retirement. My wife is a banker and has a background in finance so she is the expert..so I really can't help anyone with suggestions about this topic. I however can say with 100% certainty that if you had taken the time to understand completely how the investment works before you go playing around with it...this unfortunate thing would not have happened.

Sorry if I seem insensitive. I just have reached a point in my life where I'm a little sick and tired of hearing people complain about how the government or the bank ROBBED them...when in most cases it is just people not taking ownership for a problem that was created through there own ignorance.

I accepted that I was over my limit by $2000, not $18,000
