There are a lot of great outdoor GPSs made by Garmin. I've tried them all, but prefer a relatively tried and tested model, the Garmin 60Csx which is virtually bulletproof. If you're looking for something more current with touchscreen like functions, the Oregon 400 is another great choice. Check them out at gpscentral.ca. cheers. D
