He mentions in the post it’s a .22, unless I’m misunderstanding something
I believe he talked about his son shooting the .22

hey Simon, great afternoon indeed. Is that a Shakespeare rod? What specs? Also, that looks like a .410 bolt action shotgun, right? Thanks!

Well Saturday on Simco was a much slower day. As I had expected that cold front that moved in Friday made a big difference in just one day. We worked hard and tried a variety of baits and techniques but best we could do for the day was 6 keeper perch. It was still wonderful to get out there and I am really loving having someone else worry about maintaining the hut and all and me just being able to relax and fish 😊.
Thursday we caught a burbot and decided to try it, OMG was it ever good! We went on Youtube to research cleaning and cooking them and got some great ideas. We decided to try a couple of variations for cooking it and our favourite was cut into chunks like scallops, tossed in fishcrisp, and pan fried in oil. Never again will burbot be released 😁
Caught burbot on Nipissing early January and did the same. Was great, now I'll keep burbot every time..😁😁😁

Great fish, great day on the water👍👍

For sure it's a stardic knock off, not a Shimano product. Not sure how reliable the reel is, looks good...they have a Stella, also...😁😁

Everything "public" is cancelled from now 'till NEXT Fall. No concerts, no fishing tourneys, no car shows.. even Moparfest has already cancelled this years event in Kitchener.

Ice may be gone, however I'm pretty sure pike season is closed until May there. I could be wrong, but there is a billboard in the parking lot with the regs/info. The harbour could be a good choice, around the Williams/Pier 4 area. If the season is open.
Pike season close March 31

My buddy, has one. Works great, he used it on Simcoe and was awesome in seeing how whitefish bite. I would say it's a game changer. You will enjoy it. 👍

Thanks for the replies, guys. With this mild weather still lingering in S Ontario, I had to see what other options I have. Looks like N is the way to go. Hopefully, soon we'll have some good ice on Simcoe.
Cheers!
