  1. Yup - I avoid UPS at all costs. I always ask the American shippers to use USPS. USPS hands off to Canada Post at the border and it gets treated like regular mail after that. There's no tracking, but it's sooo cheap compared to UPS.

I'd love to see UPS forced to pare back brokerage fees to something reasonable, so us poor Canucks aren't subsidizing their worldwide operations.

USPS all the time. I order a ton from the states and if it isn't USPS i don't buy. Made the mistake of not looking one day and the brokerage fee was almost 3 times the cost of the item! Hope they have to pay all of us back, lol. Good luck. As for the tickets, keeping the old one on the windshield is classic!

  2. I own an 06' Denali and it's one of the best vehicles I have ever owned. No comparison in the comfort and hauling department. The thing tow's my 19 footer with ease. It has the 6.0 liter in it and I wouldn't change it. They are big however, but with kids and dogs in tow you need the room. I haven't had many issues with it (110k)knock on wood. The fuel situation isn't that bad as long as you keep your foot off the gas.lol But i swear it burns gas just sitting in the driveway. But if you want towing power and comfort for your family (safety to of course) don't look any farther than the yukon!

  3. Don't blame the gas station guy. I think it's been explained before that the delay in the drop in prices occurs because the retailer has to sell that gas based on the price he paid for it, not based what he will or might be paying the next time he has his tanks filled.

So mister GAS Guy paid (?) to fill his tank on Monday, Wednesday the price of oil goes way up, Wednesday night we're all paying alot more for gas? What happened to mister GAS Guy selling for the price he paid for it in the first place. Cause all the gas in his tanks cost alot less than what he's selling it for! But I do agree that he doesn't want to sell the gas in his tanks for less. Whatever we're all getting screwed

  4. Lake Lauzon (15-20 mins south) is full of fish. Bass, walleye and giant pike and musky. Bright lake does having good fish in it, but as said is tough sometimes. There's always lake Huron that is a stones throw from Iron Bridge, and you can target whatever you'd like. Giver and catch some fish.

When in doubt come to Elliot Lake

  5. I also thought that my boat was great on fuel, anytime I'm running on the lake I have a full tank. When I stop and turn the key it tells me the actual fuel level. Kinda bugs me, but I thought that's the way it worked. Guess I'll have to pull the float aswell. Good info!

  6. Looking at getting one from a friend for free. Its an older one that has to be wired to the house. Have an electrician ready to do it. But my wife is holding out because of the possiblilty of bigger bills. what kind of energy consumption am I looking at in terms of electricity, is it going to make a huge spike in my bill?

My hot tub is about $30 to $4o a month to run and it is running 24/7. Depends on what you want to pay for relaxation and entertainment? Hell I bet you spend more than that at Timmies! Just saying, it isn't going to break the bank. Wouldn't trade mine in! Maybe for a 9.9. Any takers, haha

  7. Hello all, I was thinking of one of these 2 finders- Lowrance 5xDSI or the HB 596 HD DI. Both are around the same price but was wondering if anyone has these models and what their opinion was. Also do they have gps? It says they will track your waypoints, so I am to believe they have it. Any input on these 2 models will be appreciated and if you have a better suggestion for the money I am open to all. Thanks

  8. Hey all, have gotten quite a few different opinions on this. I want to use my boat (mercuy 90hp 4 stroke)into November. I live in Northern Ontario.

I guess the question is: Do I have to flush with antifreeze every time I come home, or does the engine completely drain so that I don't have to worry about any freezing parts??

I have read that if the motor is trimmed all the way down that all water will drain out. I also know that there are lots of spots that water can get trapped. What do you's do when fishing late in the season? Thanks

  9. Hey there, was wondering if any of you own a 1997 - 150HP Johnson FICHT Fast Strike motor, and if so, how has it been? Has it been reliable, what parts have you had to change?

If anyone knows of some one who owns/owned one of these motors I would be greatful of ANY information.

Why I ask is that someone is selling one or wants to trade for a 70-90hp 4 stroke (which I have 90hp) and of course I always want more power. I love the 4 stroke for ease of use, ie: no oil to add ect... But would it be worth the hassel for the extra power and speed?

    Thanks

  10. Back blade there is lots of fish in Horne lake, mostly rainbow the MNR have been doing a good job of stocking the lake. People are there every day, not sure how many catch alot of fish but they do catch them. The boat launch on Elliot Lake is another popular spot with pike and bass caught in abundance. Give me a shout when you come up and maybe we can get out in the boat one night after work! You must be working on the new Shopper's Drug Mart?

I can give you a couple other spots to shore fish that are way better than Horne lake!!!

  11. You have to STATE clearly that you want it shipped USPS and not UPS. UPS always has brokerage fee's and import fee's. USPS does not. I have bought countless items on ebay and have been dinged a few times and every time it's UPS. Most times even with the fee's it still cheaper (but not by much)

    Nice reel by the way!
