I'd like to go for one more day this weekend, but I don't want to go for a drive if the ice is no good. Does anybody have an ice report?

Fishing is not an addiction, trips to the tackle store can be though.
And that's an addiction I've got bad! :D

they are killer for walleye and brookies, I've only ever used the in open water though.
btw, I don't think can fish really get that used to lures, maybe locally or for a short period of time, but, how long have mepps black fury, red devil spoons, floating rapalas etc. been around for and they still kill.

I fish in Michigan sometimes and from my experiences, a ban on recreational angling would cause that particular state to secede from the union, they're pretty passionate.

Just put in my yearly Cabelas order, new trolling motor, new rods, new tackle, it's going to be a great year for fishing!

I've got a 12' Princecraft Ungava with a 9.9 on it. It is absolutely not overpowered, especially with a full load.
Based on my experience, I vote you get the 9.9.

That was a game for the ages!
Our game forever!

Beauty Fish! I really miss fishing the Niagara River, and I used to love going to Bill's Bait & Tackle.
If I want to catch fish like that at this time of year, I have to stand waist deep in the St. Mary's rapids, it's cold in May, it's unbearable in February.

Good job worm dangler, I think the fishing is slow everywhere up here right now. We went out for whities today, saw tons on the camera, but couldn't buy a strike.
BTW I'm with you, lakers taste better than specks.

as anders and TDunn have said, I can vouch for cooked rice or macaroni. I personally use the macaroni.

Just a few minutes left and the Canadian gals are throwing us a shut-out.
Allow me to be the first to congratulations to my Canadian friends.
(Oh well - we'll be bringing home the GOLD on Sunday )
Them's fightin' words!
-
My Canadian wife laughed at that.

Are you kidding me 6-1??? Did the Russians all go out drinking this afternoon or something!???
-
That looks awesome.
I often threaten my wife that I'm going to get a giant jumping brookie tattooed across my back, but I think I'd be getting divorced.
-
Yeah, I don't think I'll be buying one of those.

more, taken at my very favorite spot.

Empty netter, that is a bitter, bitter pill to swallow.
Bring on Germany!

Now this is a thread I can get into!
I'm dreaming of spring speck fishing.
Here's one of my favorite spots to catch my favorite fish.
-
At least they kept it interesting.

Those Simcoe whities grow big!

6wt Sage Launch fly rod with a reel with two spools, 1 with floating line, one with full sink. I've caught lake trout, specks, smallmouth, pike and even the odd walleye on this setup.

I saw a big speck in the Elliot Lake area spit up a frog in the winter time, strangest thing in the world if you ask me.

I worked and yes I'm bitter about it.

Very well, sounds dodgy, I won't chance it. Maybe I'll go for rainbows in the rapids then.
There's always options.
