  1. the only rapids I know are in the fish sanctuary "opens 3rd sat in may.  Pickeral opens may 1st in zone 14 but sturgeon are closed all year.  The reserve that is getting the fish is miles away and midland/port severn is not reserve land.

Belleville,Trenton and Concecon is not on the reserve either and they still spear in these spots even though it is a sanctuary,(April 1st - until 1st Sat in may)I guess they {Natives) can spear and hunt when and wherever they want.

  2. What does it take to get a bait harvesters licence? Worms are still fine without a licence thought right?

It will be expensive to get a bait harvesters license, you will need an area or territory to harvest have to get the area from the natural resources, you also have to pay for the areas. Most of them are already taken. You will have to take some coarses also, ministry will have to inspect your setup.Money Money Money before you even get started.

  3. Just wondering when bearings should be replaced and or repacked.

since its that time of year.

I have never done it before and was wondering if places sell whole bearing kits including seals?

I have a 22l Shorelander, I think it takes 1and 1/16 inch but I am not sure. The online owners manual didnt really help too much.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Put a set of bearing buddies on the trailer, helps keeping the bearings well greased.

  4. I watched a Canadian Sportfishing show and he was at the Soo for their July Kiwanis Derby and each boat was allowed five fish and they brought in some really nice fish.

I was checking the Regs for 2011 and for 2012 and read that in Zone 9, Walleye limit was 2 for an 'S' licence and in Zone 10, the limit was four with only one over 18.1 inches for an 'S' licence.

Can anyone explain what was going on there?

Really wondering, even Italo referred me to the derby web site.

    David aka Superdad

The way I read your reply is your allowed 4 fish with one being over 18.1 in. for two people you would be allowed to catch 8 fish total, but the derby only allowed a catch of 5 fish per boat,so you would be under the total allowed.Or am I reading it wrong?

  5. Sounds like your blades are buggered. They really should be changed every season or at least have a spare set handy as one blade will always dull on you at the very worst time :) lol. The curved blades don't last near as long as straight ones.

As for your handle you should be able to massage the bend out of it with a bench vise etc. enough so that it isn't so noticeable.

They really are the best auger gas or otherwise IMO Have had mine since '98 or so. However many season's that is :D

Change the blades every year????? I've had my auger going on 9 years and have yet to change the blades, they still cut like butter.I am fishing 2-3 times a week every year.

  6. I cant renew either it gives me this error

    POSTAL CODE DIFF

    Denied Postal Code is Different

If you have moved since you last received an outdoor card they need to know your last postal code that the card went to,my grandson had that problem he moved 2-3 times and couldn't remember the code, they wouldn't give him a new license until he got the code right.

  7. I'm thinking 2x3s (24 inch centres) and 1/4 ply for the sides, so it probably won't turn out as heavy as the runners might suggest. Once I've affixed sliders to the runners, I figure I'll have close to seven inches clearance. My chum has a big diesel pickup with a plow there, so I'll get it where it needs to go.

If your putting 24" centers for the wall studs I don't think 1/4 plywood will be stong enough for a hut that size.
