Hi Everyone,

Will the ice be thick enough to fish the Bay of Quinte by Saturday? I'm not asking for hot spots, but could somebody give a general idea of where fish? PM if you prefer.

I'll be getting my ice fishing stuff sometime this week.

Right now I don't think there's a better deal than the St Croix Premier rods for $22 bucks at Fishing World. They do come with a reel too for under $40 most places.

Do you know if they sell this combo at BPS?

You can fish south of HWY. 2 until Dec. 31

After Dec. 31 you can only fish south of the CNR tracks.

I hope all you OFNers had a fantastic Christmas!!

I have some questions regarding ice fishing:

1. Would a medium action rod be best for the species i am targeting? (Walleye, brook trout, and steelhead)

2. Should i buy a 6" or 8" auger?

3. What is the best quality ice fishing combo? ($50 or less)

4. Should i use braid or mono line? And, what pound test should i use?

Other then fishing on Grand Cayman, I'll be sticking to local waters.

I got a new camera, the Olympus Tough 6000. It takes pretty good pics, but the best part about it's waterproof (10ft), shockproof (5ft), and freezeproof (-10).

Also, i got a pair of merino wool socks, so my feet won't be as cold when i fish in the winter.

Check out Virgin Mobile's "pay as you go" plan.

If you buy $100 card it will last the year.

Also, you can get a cheap phone from them.
