  1. Good afternoon Everyone

We didn't have as many teams out this year. This was due to the water conditions and bad pre-fishing. The anglers that did come out braved the wind and waves.

A thank you goes out to all the anglers who participated. We had 35 teams entered.

Thanks to our great sponsors who help to make this event a success:

I was just up in Algonquin last month . We stay at a place just outside Bancroft on Paudash lake and we love it they're it is beautiful. We will be heading they're again in Late September. It is a 40 minute drive to Algonquin but any where near the park you are going to pay. Unless u CAMP!

You could also rent an RV that is another option.

Anyway if you do not mind the 40 minute commute try the Sommerset inn

Dave & Lori the Lodge owners are great people and they look after you....you have a choice of cottage, motel room or a room in the main Building. All rooms in the main building lead out to a beautiful Deck that over looks the lake.....They do not do breakfast!

Coffe & tea is in the reception for u plus they keep soft drinks and bottled water for u in the fridge at no extra cost. How ever THEY do have rooms with Kitchenette. They're prices are great.

And (Just for the Halibut) In Bancroft have the best fish N chips i have ever had in my life.

  5. UPDATE!

Norfolk County : Despite Closure, Hot Dog Stand Gaining Steam

    Posted by Adam Liefl

Norfolk County Councillor John Hunt is the target of a letter writting campaign looking to keep the "Nautidog" in Long Point open. Locals upset with the closure of the hot dog stand have started writing letters to Hunt in hopes of getting him to change a bylaw which has forced the stand to close after five weeks in business. Hunt told CD 98.9 he has invited owner Tracy Bennett to come to council to make a deputation to have the bylaw changed, but a change in the bylaw would require a majority vote by council members.

  6. Firstly let me say that I cannot thank you all enough for all of your support during this whole bylaw license issue. Honestly it is truly overwelming, and we hate to ask something else of you. All of your support is amazing but now our license HAS BEEN REVOKED. The letters of support you have sent to us have been wonderful but now we need you to send them to the people that need to hear them. Namely the Norfolk County mayor and councillors. We ask that you be respectful as this fight is not with the people that complained as much as it is with the people who issued the permit to begin with. Feel free to be honest but we want your letter to reflect the kind of people we know you are .... YOU GUYS ROCK !! We are working on a appeal with the County and we need them to know how much you, the voting public and our valued customers disagree with their decision. If you want Nautidogs in Long Point then here are the email addresses we need you to send your comments to now:

    [email protected]

and to the councillor for Long Point:

    [email protected]

thanks so much for your support, we really feel like we are all in this together. thanks so much to the residents of Longpoint for their support also.

Jimmy and Stef .....there are no words to relay our gratitude.

    wish us luck !!!

Norfolk County : Petitioners Vying To Keep Hot Dog Cart

    Posted by Adam Liefl

A petition has been started in hopes of keeping the "Nautidog" in Long Point. CD 98.9 first brought you the story yesterday of the woman who is in jeopardy of losing the vendor permit for her hot dog cart due to, what she's calling, an unfair bylaw that allowed her to operate with no problems for the past five weeks. Owner Tracy Bennett is saying she just found out her licence would be revoked due to a complaint from a competing business. She also says since she's not a permanent location, she has been denied a right to appeal. A paper petition is available at Rotton Ronnies in Long Point, as well, an online petition has been started on Facebook.

  8. I can't get to it by the link

    Terry My appoligise....

I have opened my site back up again....Sorry but alot of weirdo's out there which is why i usually have it set to Registration to gain access. ;)

    Thankyou..

  9. Ask your lawyer if this is a planning issue and if so, why can't it be appealed to the OMB. I'm not suggesting that's a practical solution but it may raise some eyebrows as a credible threat.

John once i have the letter in Hand i will be taking it along to my lawyers......I was told....

They're exact words..."I HAVE NO RIGHT TO APPEAL"!

I have been running my Cart for five weeks now....No one has bothered me.....I have not broken the law....I have my licence........Wich was issued to me on the 19th of March 2009.

    Nauti

  10. Well i just had a phone call from Norfolk Council....They are sending out the letter today to my adress to revoke my Licence....I guess from what i have been told it is the guy that owns the Arcade that has been putting in complaints to Council here in Norfolk county.....

They are saying i do not have a right too apeal because i am not a permanant location....Make sence of that then.....When i applied for my licenece they told me i had to have a permanant location as in Adress where my Hotdog cart would be situated. Otherwise they would not issue my licence....Now they are telling me that i am not a permanant location because i am not allowed to be there.

    I am furious right now.....

    Nauti.

  11. i support you 100% but you shouldnt use this in your argument as it may cause problems for the fry stand owner. maybe they just havent had any complaints about the fry stand so they havent looked into how far it is away from the restaurant. you bringing this up will make them look into it and the fry stand guy would likely have to relocate.

Actually from what i was told from the locals.. he did have to fight for the spot and he actually took it too council......& thankyou for the support.

    Nauti.

    SJ....Thankyou.... ;)
