Hi Everyone....I'm happy to say that I am back after leaving this site for many years due to work. I took on a new position that required extensive travel around the world and almost completely stopped me from fishing. I was traveling every other week for weeks at a time and my boat has been stored away for 3 years in a row now.

I've got less than 4 weeks before my official retirement date and can hardly wait to make up for the lost time of doing what I enjoy the most>>>>>>  FISHING!!

I looked at a few posts on here and happy to still see some familiar names and faces......

Hi everyone.....it's been a long time since I posted anything due to the fact that I have not been able to get out on the water because of work. I took a new Global position 2 years ago that has me traveling around the world every 2 weeks which has really cut into my ability to get out....I decided to take the bull by the horn and take a week off so I could actually get caught up around the house and a possible trout outing....My buddy called me last week and when I told him I was off he said "let's get out to your favourite trout lake"....It didn't take any time for me to say "let's go!"

All I can say is that we picked an awesome 3 days of getting into the deep back lakes and hammering the Rainbows...we got into the lake Friday night after having to winch out of a few mud holes and limited out by noon on Saturday....My buddy forgot the net so it was pretty exciting to work the fish until there were ready to be grabbed. We even had the excitement of have a double header early Saturday morning...

The highlight of the trip was this beauty 8lb'r that my buddy caught on the fly with no net

I hope to get out on a few more outings this year and contribute some posts to this community...

I'm back from a company position that had me traveling around the world every week or 2....starting to slow down now (I hope) and I'm looking forward to getting out this year and get back to fishing again and providing some posts!

Thanks Lew...nice to be back. The New Year is starting off with travel to Brazil but I am hoping that business travel will settle down this year. Looking forward to posting a few reports again!

Hope everyone had a great Christmas and here's to a good 2015....yes I'm back from being away from the site for quite a long time....I took a new position at work in 2014 that had me travelling around the world....124,000 travelled miles this year.....I was able to get out a handful of times in the boat but that was it...

Looking forward to hopefully being able to get out on the ice and soft water this year a few more times than last year...

You've got that right Lew!....not only during the winter. We've had 2 day outages here in the summer after storms and the Generac was in full operation...

We have a Generac as well but not as nice as Lews!!...it's a portable 8000W Electric start and we have a dedicated breaker panel for it...We've had it for over 12 years now and it runs like new.

Home Depot sells them on-line and they're cheaper now then they were back when we bought ours.

Wind has been very much a big player on the big waters of late, especially for the musky hunters of GB and the Larry

Agreed....if you have a big enough boat it's heaven...the Muskie bite has been awesome here on the Ottawa River

I counted 15 cormorants in front of my place here on the Ottawa River...I've never seen that many swimming together since I've been here for the past 16yrs.
