  1. Longest I've done is about 3.5 hours. If I was going any further, I'd be camping or finding a hotel room.
  2. +1 on practicing with other species too. Doesn't just have to be used for steelhead. I actually used mine carp fishing a bit when I first got it. Ugly fish, but a good sized one can take some pretty powerful runs.
  3. Hi folks, Will be up on Boshkung Lake (just north of Minden) mid-July, just wondering if anyone can give me a little direction on this lake? It is part of a 3 lake chain apparently, so perhaps some of the adjoining lakes are worthwhile? My reading seems to point to LMB, SMB and lakers. Anyone know if there is decent pike fishing? I've never personally had much luck for lakers, but haven't really chased them much. I know by July they will likely be deep? Any advice for lakers? Thanks for any help you guys can give me!
  4. Thanks folks. I fished a fair bit as a kid with the old man, but have only started to develop the addiction over the last year. This past summer was my first really trying to learn. Lots more to be learned, that's why I'm here.
  5. Hi All, Have been lurking for a while here, just thought I would introduce myself. I live in London, so I'm typically fishing the Thames and the Grand Rivers for pike, bass, walleye. Also get out onto Lake Erie a few times a year. Have just been getting into the steelhead/salmon runs these past two years, so I'm still fairly new to those species. Also just picked up a Crappy Tire special fly rod/reel combo this past fall, so have been learning the ropes there slowly but surely. Anyone fishing the area on here, feel free to drop me a line!
