  1. Oil is cheap insurance. I change my outboards every 50 hours or so.

My truck gets changed every 5000km even though i use full synthetic in every thing and quality filters.

I put the same castrol 10w30 in every four stoke i own. It goes on sale at CT at least twice a year and i will buy 15 liters at a time.

  2. Put grease in my drinking water? no thanks. Delta recommended against it too.

If I was not told that this was normal I would have sworn it was being broken down by some solvent of rubber.....like the kind that can be found in some grease. Maybe the chlorine was breaking it down. The rubber was still flexible, with no cracks or pieces missing.

I threw the round metal cartridge piece in vinegar and used a tooth brush to rub off the hard water build up...all shiny and non-leaking now.

In 6 months I will check and replace 6 months after that, it is super easy. Parts are free for Deltas (lifetime warranty).

    forrest

Silicone grease is safe to use in a potable water system. Who ever told it is normal to fix a faucet every year is a moron.

Fishinfool is correct home depot does not sell the same quality as a plumbing wholesaler. Thats why your best to hire a plumber and not spend 20 on a peice of junk glacier bay faucet from home depot that will break in 6 months

  3. The biggest bass I have ever caught was a 7.5 lb last fall in about 8" of water. I could not belive how big this thing was, for sure no 6 lb average lakes around here. Maybe you could find a lake like that down south where they are active all year but still not likely.

  4. I bought a new 14 ft jon boat in the spring. Went in guy took 10 mins to walk outside show me a $800 boat which has to be on there low end. I paid for it, went home unloaded a the crap in my pick up. Went back he unlocked helped load, on my way. :D

  5. I am wondering if anyone can give me some insight to how small a lake or pond can hold largies. I have many little lakes that are accessible from my cottage, but i am wondering at what point is in not worth hauling the canoe back in the bush. Will a 300 meter by 100 meter pond have any good fish.

Also i know largemouth can live in quite warm water but what would the shallow limit be ?
