  1. Me and the boys are booked at Island Lake Camp in Field Ontario next week(Temagemi). Just looking for any info if you have been. Thanks.
  2. So no one has been to Island Lake Camp in Temagami??
  3. Thanks for the replys. We camped From Fri night to Mon morning. We fished every day. We got smallmouth from 1- 2.5 lbs, some rock stars and managed 2 small rainbows, both 7-8". All but a couple smallmouth are swimming today. (Fish ry for the kiddies) Thought we would do worse with the kids swimming and creating lots of noise however, we did okay. This was in the Auburn area.
  4. Heading to Goderich area for the weekend camping. Has anyone been fishing the river lately? just curious if it is been producing anything and water levels.(I would assume it is up a bit). We stay annually in the Auburn area. Thanks
  5. Okay, so plans have been re -routed. It looks like the fly in is out based on work schedules and group constraints......... We will be doing a drive in camp. One of the guys says he has heard good things about Island Lake Camp in Temagami. Has anyone heard anything. They had an article in OOD Mag. a few months ago.?????????????
  6. Thanks douG. This will be our first time. We're fine with packing in some stuff and cooking. Certainly okay with roughing it. Great fishing is the most important. Any help is great. We're from the hamilton area and ideally we would like to keep the drive to 6 hrs and then fly????? New liskeard area and a bit north maybee. As I said, this is our first and are trying to put something together for Sept.
  7. Looking for the fall. Would like amazing fishing for Walleye, Bass and Pike, min 3 days, Northern Ontario Fly In lake for a few buddies. Hoping some of you could share previous trips and experiences to help us in our search. I understand availability will be an issur to overcome. Thanks. P.S. Feel free to pm me.
  8. Thanks for all the great info guys! I will post a report when I go.
  9. Just got through to Guelph, their recording says that they are closed for ice fishing for the "09" season.
  10. Does anyone know if there is ice on Guelph or Puslinch lake? I cannot seem to raise anyone on the phone. Thanks Jeff
  11. Great Job Sorry, what's the bog??? Jeff
  12. Agree with Roy. Also if you get caught in an O.P.P. blitz they will park you with an LT tire on a trailer. (if you get a hard nose). I have an Lt as a spare, only taking my chances if I have to use it to get home! As for Princess Auto, be cautious with the rims/ tires you buy. Likely the same Carlisle tires, however the rims I purchased from P.A. with tires already installed had runout that shook the boat too bad. Went to my local tire guy (keeping the money I was spending "local") and he advised me of my problem. (the rims not accurate enough). All said and done, he set me up and I was out the door within $8 per tire, and he balanced and installed them. The balancing is not necessary, however you can shake and rattle alot of electronics on the way to the lake. Sorry for the ramble but just wanted to share with ya! Jeff
  13. Great report Johnny! Were heading up in Sept for a week. Your post is getting me itchy! Jeff
  14. It's settled. We are going camping next weekend on the Maitland River apparently right in Auburn. Thanks for the info Splashhopper. I'm not organizing this one as its a family weekend. What should I prepare for, strictly Bass????? I'm have never fished the river before and curious what species I will run into? Thanks. Jeff
  15. Is there any fishing opportunities in the Auburn area? I think were camping next weekend........ Thanks Jeff.
  16. Thanks guys. Kind of thinking about Stoney Lake??? Anyone fished it?
  17. I have some time coming to me in September, and are entertaining the thought of renting a cottage for 3-4 days up to a week to take off with sweetie and do some R&R and of course fishing! The question is where???? Some thoughts... @3 hour drive from the Hamilton area Good fishing, Walleye , Perch etc, have done Quinte lots. Nice place, doesn't have to be big and not a bank breaker! Any suggestions Thanks Jeff
  18. Hi Don. You'll do good. I was out there on Tuesday night. I'm going to head back out for the day Thursday. Here's my report from then. There's pics if you search the post. Hope it helps you and good luck ! Well, I picked sweetie up right from work Tuesday @4 and we headed for the lake. We were on the water by 5:30 and first fish came at 6:30. We fished SE of Port Maitland in front of Mowhak, 52 -68 Fow, running leadcore, jets, dipseys and riggers with harnesses, ripplin redfins, nk28's. Went 3 for 4 (3-7Lbs) off the water by 9pm(work night). Lead core out 6-7 colours on an inline board took 3 with a copper coloured worm harness, a rigger 40'down out 150' took the 4th. Lost one at the boat but what a awesome night on the water with a great fishing partner!
