  1. Have a 20 Gal tall tank, with assorted tropicals (danios, platys, corydoras, and a small pleco.

I am also putting a second tank together for my four year old, with Electric Blue Lobsters (Australian blue crayfish) and a few goldfish/koi.

Being a fisherman and an aquarium enthusiast kind of go hand in hand.

  2. I think being a fisherperson and an aquarium enthusiast go hand in hand. I frequent both message boards as well and find that fisning and keeping fish are kind of the same. The Rams in that picture are gorgeous. I have a 20 gal set up for my 4 year old son with cory cats in it a few danios and a pleco. It is a simple set up, but plan when the basement is fully removated to put in a 65 gal with smaller Cichlids (Neolamprologus) spp. and sheel dwellers if they can coexist.

I even at one point when I was a teenager had a few brown bullheads and a small group of largemouth in a tank at home (35 gal). They grew fast so I releeased them back and I lost the interest until a few years ago.

Good to hear that there are aquaruim hobbyists on this board too!! Count me in!!

  3. Thanks for all the advice gentlemen. I will sure take it all together when preparing my equipment.

As long as I can catch fish to keep the kids happy, that is the most important.

Didn't know that the lake held largemouth, but good to hear that as I love topwater action, and buzzbaits along weed adges.

    Thanks Again

  4. Thanks Guys, I appreciate the help.

I found out that the lake holds Walleye and Smallmouth Bass.

I have a canoe at my disposal, what in you opinion would be the best way to cover the greatest amount of water and find fish.

I am partial to crankbaits and most other body bait types (Rapalas) and spinners, spoons.

    Thanks

  5. Thanks for the report. When I was a teen a few year back (20), that was one of my favorite destinations for pike and Largemouth.

I just may have to take my kids there for a day of fishing.

I remember that the bluegills were at the back end of the reservoir (far end opposite the dam).

Thanks for reminding me of that place.

  6. Hi everyone, I am heading up to Wood Lake in the Bracebridge Area for the second week in August with family.

I have never been here, would appreciate any information on the lake. I dont know what to expect fish wise, opportunities, tackle???

I have small kids, so I would like to give them an enjoyable week fising wise, and perhaps catch a few for the frying pan myself.

I am limited to canoe and row boat I think. Again any help at all would be immensely appreciated!!

    Take Care

    Mario
