Hey all, My reel finally died so it's time to spend some more money on fishing stuff. I am a smaller lake fisher, basically just bass, occasional drop shotting for lake trout, some trolling etc etc. Any one have any suggestions or anything I should stay away from? I was recommended the Quantum Pti-20a, It around $90. I was only looking to spend like $100-120 for a combo. Any help would be great!

Hey, I will be visiting a friends cottage on Kennisis Lake next weekend and was wondering if anyone could give me a heads up and let me know what to expect. Is it a simple laker/bass lake? any other species? I have a boat on a trailer and wouldn't look past fishing other lakes in the region if anyone could recommend anything. Thanks guys and gals,

I'd like to thank everyone for their participation. better luck next time! haha, anyways, 4.5 lbs, at 20" long. Shredded a senko with no problem. Quick release to ensure somebody else could experience the same thrill as me.

Thanks to all who gave me bass tips last week, really helped. I know it's no record, biggest for me though. Caught a few others around 12-14" but I couldn't put their pics up beside this one. So can you guess the weight?

I think my big problem is that i need to slow down. Last time out was during a cold front, which probably didn't help either. Atleast I have an excuse, that's what helps me sleep at night i guess.

find drop offs, and if using live bait, drop a minnow straight down with a egg sinker 12" or more below your hook.

I found this one weed bed between a few islands. I was throwing top water baits like a jitterbug, and skitter pop. I wasn't getting any hits, but i saw 3 monsters jump out of the water to eat something. It made me feel very down about my skills haha.

I know I'm an amateur. I have no success with anything except for when I'm either trolling or throwing a spinner bait around weed edges. I need some serious help fishing bass. Any hints to lure types, spots to look for, or time of day? Anything would be appreciated! Thanks!

I'm from the Newmarket area, but work in Toronto. So I can go pretty much anywhere to get this thing fixed. I did take it apart on the weekend expecting it to be dirty and corroded but to my suprise it was really clean, so I'm still lost.

Hey all, I'm a virgin post'er, but love this forum. Anyways, I got up to the cottage friday afternoon, put the trolling motor on the boat, went to go out fishing, decided I'd give it a try before I left the dock, and sure enough the thing wouldn't turn. Battery was tested and was fine. You can hear a little buzz but the props won't even turn. Does anyone know where to get a trolling motor serviced. It's an old Minn Kota, is it even worth getting fixed? I don't want to spend a ton of cash. Bad way to start a day of fishing, but still managed to catch a few smallies.
