  1. Hey guys/gals, been a while hope you're well. I'm kicking off the opener this Saturday with a mini-tourney between some friends. Some good bragging rights on the line. Problem is, me and my partner are at a big disadvantage since we've never fished the lake we're going to: Dog Lake, Close to Kingston (Battersea?), and we're uber competitive so hoping someone on here may be able to assist. The BEST thing I can find on the lake itself is this Google map I've searched for and copied myself. Internet research, limited, has led me to believe that there are some points on the northern edge, "Franks Points?" that could be good for Large Mouth? I've placed a black circle over those. We're launching from the Ship Yards launch circled in Red. There is an opening directly south east from the launch into another lake - not sure what that is, Cranberry? Looking for anyone who could help lead me on the right track with lake advice or perhaps a few more circles to attempt to fish. Thank you very much and may luck be with you this weekend.
  2. Same here. It was a slow day for me, and I didn't see the giant bull frog as he was under the pads/scum. But I watched as the pads all shook, and the scum started to part and this giant tunnel (scene from Tremors) approached my lure. Then SMASH! I landed it, but thank GOD it spit the hook before I had to touch it. I'll tell you though, after a slow day like I was having, it was about the most exciting hit I've ever had.
  3. Think I'll go: Early - Would love to land one on a Buzz Bait. After that just move to plasitcs. Bleeding Tube, Grubs and worms. Going to give the floating worm a try as well - bubblegum hot pink.
  4. Thanks guys! I read it as the LAST Saturday in June...silly me that there is 5 of em this year.
  5. Well hello. What an awesome & active forum... I see a few people at work today browsing around. I'm 27, been getting into the sport a lot more the past few years and starting next year (curtousey of a New house North of Whitby coming soon) will be heading to either Lake Scugog or Rice lake more often as they are fairly close by. I mainly fish bass right now, but would like to add to my portfolio the next few years. For now, I head to the Cottage in Presqui'le on Brighton Bay for the odd weekend and get some fishing in. Brighton Bay the past few years has become much better fishing as the fish have finally made the swim down the Canal from the Bay of Quinte (a great fishing location), and for the guy who asked about Brighton Bay, the safest bet to entertain the Grand Kids would be the mouth of the Canal (Both small & large mouth & rock bass). Anyway, wanted to say hello, and say thanks for providing me one more place to visit to put off actually working. I also had a question regarding the opening of Bass Season for Brighton Bay, I'm planning on going Saturday June 30th, but assumed that was opening weekend? Am I off a week? Thanks gang.
