My son likes to go there to kill some time and fish. This year he says he's caught tonnes of Rock Bass and Gobey! I think he has mentioned the odd largie and last year he almost pulled in his first Pike.

I said this before and I'll say this again. This board is amazing! Thanks for all the help. Totally forgot about the license thing. It won't be me fishing, just the little ones. I will take a look at the QMNR site for more info. Thanks again. I really appreciate all the responses. Cheers!

I am heading out the last week of July to Mt. Tremblant. It'll be a family trip and the kids are looking to fish from shore. I am not familiar with the area and I seek everyone's expert advise. Even somewhere on the way to Tremblant would be a bonus. Thanks for the assistance.

Hello All, Been a while since my last post. I know many of you have your own Sportspal canoe. It appears they come highly recommended. So I have been looking around for a used 14' Square Stern or Wide Transom. Tough! Well, my questions are...I will be using the canoe for both fishing and taking the family around in local waters and I want to know if it would be better to get the Square stern for maneuverability? I also will be loading 2 children along with my wife, I think I should be ok with weight! My next and final questions is, I have factory crossbars. Will I need to puchase 48" or even 58" bars or will the factory do? I know it is about 38" wide. I assume I should be fine, but would like to double check. Thanks!

Palomar, uni..trilene are all great knots. I find that the Polamar is the easiest to tie. Uni to Uni is great to know for leaders...

Just need some advise on fishing areas by Nobleton or Bolton area. Don't fish the area much. The only lake I know of is Island Lake. Taking my son to his camp and would like to take him fishing before he's gone for the week. Did a search on Google earth and there appears to be many small lakes. Are they fishable from shore? Any suggestions or help would be appreciated. Thanks!

NOt sure what part of the lake we were on. All over pretty much. Fishing by islands and bays. Most of the larger fish we caught that weekend was in the southern part of the lake. Took me about 1/2 hour using the little tinner we had. We are thinking of making it an annual event. Cheers!

FYI...forgot to mention fish were all caught on Senko, Tubes and spinners.

The family and I headed up about 2pm and arrive about 5:30pm. I don't even have time to unpack because the kids are extremely eager to get out on the lake. The sun was going down and the kids had a great time catching numerous of pan fish. Next morning is Bass opener. Kids can hardly wait. I wake up at 4:30am walk out of my room and both the kids are wide awake waiting to go fishing... So we get out on the lake about 5-5:30 after some breakfast. My son Jaren shortly after catches his first bass of the year. Well daddy had to get some action, not a minute later... After that, fished the same location with no more luck. About 8ish the rain started to come down. So we decided to call it a day until the rain stopped. The rain kept up till about 1pm or so. Grandpa and I decided to sneak out for a couple of hours with out the kids. Found a great little area of fish, lots of weeds, structure, rock etc. It was beautiful. Snag about 6 largemouth in about 1 hours ranging from 2.5 - 3.5 lbs. All and all a great weekend at the cottage. Here are a few more pics.

I know this is very short notice, but I am looking to take the kids out on there vary first fishing trip this year. I normally take them up to pigeon lake, where we have non-shop pan fish action. Was Possibly looking to go to Lake Scugog, however had not had much luck in Port Perry. Can anyone provide me with any suggestions. I'm located by Pickering, anything within 30-45 minutes would be great. My little 4 year old is extremely impatient. OH, forgot to mention, there will be no boat involved. Thanks for the assistance.

That is unfortunate! Maybe as fishermen we should be educating those that are not so educated. I once did not know everything there is to know and till this day still learning, however with the help of the board and research I have been able to figure thing out just fine. As a group we can try to better our fishery. My two cents. Thanks for the report Johnny Bass.

Bassin...thanks for all the info. Sound like a great little boat. Really appreciate all the help that everyone has given me. Terry...is your boat still for sale. Sent you a pm. let me know. Thanks

I have also been looking a little 12 -14 footers. However, space is a real issue where I live. No space outside to store the boat either. That is why I have been looking at this foldable boat. Thanks for the insight. Cheers!
