Since I now have no boat I purchased a Pelican Quest 100 Kayak from Costco - seemed like a good deal
with roof tie downs, paddle and skirt - Have not put in water yet - any commencts on these -
as if it feels good we will buy a second one maybe slightly larger so two of us can paddle together
one fishing , one just paddling etc - considering a 12 ft for the second one -
anyone out there have this model of Kayak?
appreciate any insight -suggestions -

Lost these photos in the computer until now - even though I understand Chandos has
no fish -there are a few and the water is really nice and clear
pics
Lots of little fish under water
1 little fish on big lure
1 ok pike (caught a couple )
1 big bass went under dock - released lure and had to snorkle
under dock to free the lure - it jumped so there were witnesses

thanks for the input- I looked at marine chart and there are a zillion little X's on it
I guess the bad news is rocks - the good news is structure!
May have to bring the net on this trip!

we have been renting a cottage on an inland lake for 19 years -which is now up for sale -
mainly a bass lake mostly up to 2-3 lbs and could never get lost! in any event looked for a new one -we have booked one in the Skerryvore Georgian bay area moonlight bay for middle of August- I have just purchased a small handheld garmin garminmap 76cx on sale at west marine - and now looking for maps of the new area to avoid getting lost, hitting islands etc - there seems to be the blue map of eastern canada and the ontario inland lakes - not sure which one to buy - is the Georgian bay coverage identical on these - would appreciate any ones experience - I think there may be bigger fish out there !- have 15 hp 16ft tin boat -for exploring and fishing .
appreciate any comments and thank those who assisted in the past with trailer bearings, suggestions etc

"would like to go fishing more"
well, fish were shallow - not large but more than we have ever caught on Thanksgiving weekend in 10 years
we caught a fair number like the photos below all LM under a 1lb - hit orange rapalas almost as soon as it hit the
surface in 6-8 feet of water over weeds -one family in a nearvy boat thought he had a large Northern on and was very excited when he saw how large it was before it went under his boat and broke off- I quite suspect it was a Musky- since I understand there are few if any Pike in Kasagawiganmog (is that correct) - I told hime it was probably a Musky and he was very exited - I used our standards of "if you see it ,it counts" - since we use
barbless hooks - we see lots but do not always get them out of the water - but what a beautiful 3 days
for a thanksgiving weekend!
will be there this weekend again, last year was real warm caugt 1 nice largemounth
and few small ones on rapala floater over weeds- expect total fishing time to be
2-3 hours with elctric motor -
so any thoughts - from anyone - I saw posted somewhere the lakes had turned!!
should I fish slow and deep? Surface??? Gulp minnows on the bottom? think I can get
a musky on a spinner bair??
appreciate any insights and promise to report back on anything over 12" long
well, I called bps today- no point going to get one if there are none, and yes there are none, person on the phone said they were re-called !! by the manufacturer - so I guess someone is in some (Van) Dam trouble!
after running a half page ad in the (van) Dam flyer - still looked like a good deal if the (van) Dam things were available!
The reel thats on special in the BPS flyer - at $79.95 - I expect this has been asked before , is this a good reel deal!
here is the link I think

thought of retiring my 1963 Pfleuger
thanks
been going there every summer for 20 years, sm,lm ,rb and small perch
there are supposed to be splake but we,ve never seen any
cottahe owners are not happy about some people driving in out of season
and pulling out lots of bass - may get a visit from authorities
otherwise a generally peaceful lake - pretty good canoeing
can't reall get lost!
re-mortaging is a great time to get a (or a new) boat or toys , if you hve equity , use some!
seeing lots of older relatives - with tonnes of equity -but physically incapable of doing anything fun with it.
within reason play now! before you cannot.
just some thoughts
Not sure of the wisdom of these dives, but the water is pretty clear, reminds of when I was like 20 in the 70's and started diving -would dive most anywhere any time-dove the buffalo coin pile one year and off brockville and prescott numerous times - lots of carp in the shadows- but I hear the water is a lot clearer now due to zebra mussles
