Hey Guys, I'm just getting into fly fishing and as a result am also getting interested in fly tying. I was wondering if anyone knows of a good fly fishing club that has fly tying classes/seminars in close to downtown Toronto? Thanks in advance for your help and good fishing!

I don't see how "Gulp - Alive" could be considered an organic bait. As someone mentioned, it would have to come from something that was alive and although having "alive" in the name is a good marketing ploy; I don't think anything it's made of could have ever wiggled off of my hook and swam away.

Hey Guys, I finally got some time away from work and am going up to fish the Notty (near Wasaga) this weekend. I was wondering if anyone had fished it latley and knows what the conditions are like and if any trout are still around? Thanks and good fishing.

I had the day off so I decided to try some tribs this afternoon in the Barrie area. I was drifting Berkley Power Trout worms and I managed to track down some resident bows but couldn't seem to get any takers. As if getting skunked wasn't bad enough, one bow decided to mock me: After a few drifts didn't seem to spark the interest of the above mentioned bow, it retreated to an undercut bank. I tried a few more drifts close to the bank but ended up getting hung up on an overhead branch. Since it was obvious that the bow wasn't interested i waded into the creek to untangle my line rather than breaking it. I figured that would scare the bow away but it didn't even move when i was standing only 2 feet or so away!! I couldn't believe that a fish that is so known for being easily spooked would just sit there so after a minute or so of marvaling I tapped it with my rod tip which finally made it move... about 4 feet. haha. I just lauged to myself and left the "bad ass" of all bows for another day. I just thought I'd share this story because I still can't believe it happened! If anyone has any ideas on what to use to coax such picky resident bows into biting I would appreciate it.

Hi Guys, I'm going to be spending a couple of days in Kingston with not much to do so I'm going to kill time by doing some fishing. I don't know much about the area so I was hoping that someone would have some suggestions. As in the title, no secret honey holes are needed, just a spot to spend a few hours. Also, I don't have any specific species in mind - sunfish, pike or whatever is biting would be great. Thanks in advance.

Hey All, Went out to try to track down some bows this afternoon on the Pretty River. I only managed to land a really young one (maybe 3-4'') but did see a few big ones. Unfortunately, they were too easily spooked with the crystal clear water conditions. Maybe another day. I'm thinking of going back out on Friday but I was wondering if anyone from the area has had any success recently. Any tips on a river or location that still has fish in it would really be appreciated. Feel free to PM me. Thanks and good luck to anyone else who's still chasing late season bows.

Hey All, I'm off to Bermuda soon for a vacation and I'm taking a charter out for a morning of reef fishing (rather than deep sea). Has anyone here fished the reefs in Bermuda? If so, any tips on what species to go for and/or what techniques worked well? Obviously the boat "captain" will help with all of that but I was hoping to get some advice from all of the knowledgeable OFNers out there. Thanks in advance and i'll be sure to post all the pics when i get back!

Hi Everyone, I bought a jar of Berkley Floating Trout Powerbait from Canadian Tire yesterday incase I run out of fresh roe over the next few days. When I opened it was a rock hard lump rather than the mouldable "puddy" type of stuff i expected. Is this normal? I can hardly figure out how to get it on a hook looking reasonable. When in the store I noticed that the non-floating stuff was already in individual chunks but all of the floating seemed to be in one big chunk so i thought nothing of it. So should i be taking it back to "Crappy" Tire or is there some way to use this stuff. While on the topic, any opinions about how well the Trout Powerbait works?
