yep, just bought mine today for the upcoming muskoka trip. now I can go out alone without having to bother my bro-in-law to come drive the boat

2 fish on one lure is always a great day!
-
Team buy is having a special for $29
just wanted to let you guys know

on a related note, I went for a swim last week in lake wilcox and the water was just terrible. The bottom was this thick goopy quicksand material and there were almost no weeds. I remember just a few yrs ago how there was healthy weed growth in that lake. I honestly don't think many fish can survive in the lake anymore. I saw a couple trolling the lake for hours without catching anything

are there any particular good spots for shore fishing the harbour? I've never gone and would love to take my girlfriend (she just caught her first fish yesterday)

funny thing about Balsam is that I caught my first and only Musky ever there this year....... funny thing is I was fishing with a bobber and worm next to the cottage dock lol
-
ahh yes, the good old carp.... I've caught some monster 30lb carps in that area over the years. how plenty are the bass and smaller fish in that bay at this time of the yr. Making sure she catches something is more important than size.

so Im going to the zoo with the girlfriend for the day tomorrow and wanted to take her fishing for the first time at frenchman's bay down the road. can someone tell me what type of fish I should be targeting at this time of the year from shore? I was thinking of just setting her up with a bobber and live worms

i was thinking of using a trailer hook because I use them on my spinner baits for bass.... where I've noticed about 40% of my bass are hooked on the trailer hook
-
yea I think ill buy a couple new spinners and test out the best method
-
lol, I love how everyone has different advice..... put a twister on, put a twister and trailer on, put neither on
-
what do you guys think is more important when pike fishing with spinner baits.... adding a twister or adding a trailer hook ?

just got some new 20 PowerPro, it still comes with the strips of foam backing

I fish from a boat

the best spot I've found is on the north east edge, caught many pike and bass there

There's nothing in the world that makes you feel as good as watching your kids succeed.
I'm right there with you Bob; we're off to Ottawa this weekend for my daughter's law school graduation ceremony.
Hey would your son be interested in a blind date with a 26 year old lawyer; just saying.
Dan.
Hey Dan, Ottawa is a great law school. I graduated from Osgoode myself this year.

I only have an inflatable paddle boat I use to fish small lakes
I think Ill give that spot a try next time. I've caught a 25lb+ Carp just down the road so I know they're definitely in that area
-
from the looks of this it seems to be Carp heaven
you think there will still be great success from shore?
-
I see what you guys are talking about
has anyone fished off the non fenced portion of Waterfront Trail?
-
Can someone tell me whether this spot (red line) is accessible for shore fishing ? thanks
-
yep there's lots of carp in Wilcox. You can see nice 20lbs feeding by the public dock in the morning. I've also gone there quite a bit for pike and bass, though last year was just terrible. Thinking of going there for some pan fish soon
-
that is a fishing conservation zone. I use to hope the fence with my friends when I was a kid many yrs back to go fishing there but then stopped after the MNR officer found us one sunny day. I was great fishing though. A pike every couple casts if I can remember
$29 for pleasure craft operator card (boat licenses)
