  1. As DanC said alot of "Finns" in Thunder Bay. While growing up there, I had a Finnish history teacher. I'm of Italian descent and I guess he was dying to try his new joke out on me....What's the first thing they teach the Italian army? he says..."I don't know, what" I answer....he then raises his hands in the air as if to surrender. Ya, ya, har, har....So I fired one back at him....."Mr V. I said, "Whats the closest thing to a fishes bum hole?" He shrugs his shoulders and that's when i hit him...."A Fin!" I spent the rest of his class in the cafeteria.
  2. Hey Terry, Stellar tip man!! I'm gonna try that one!
  3. Ya beat me to it Rick!
  4. I believe the one with Dude holding the pike is very real. In fact, wasn't it caught in Sweden? I don't think it's a North American fish.
  5. Hey Big Cliff, Thanks for reply, and advice. Yes, we have plenty of room for the pup at the house and at the cottage. There is one concern that my wife and I have, and that's selecting a reputable breeder. Do you know of any and could you recommend some?
  6. Morning Folks, Well my wife and I have been kicking around the idea of getting a puppy. We've been thinking about this for quite some time, nearly 4 months of researching. I think we've settled on a German Shorthaired Pointer as this breed is apparently great with kids and are great hunters, (I hunt as well). Anyone have any experience with this breed? Is there anything we should be on the "look out" for? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  7. Hi Bookoobeast, No, we're just outside of Arnprior. I know of the White Lake your talking about though.
  8. Thanks for the warm welcome folks! I dig the music! Crusty, I fished the usual suspects around the area, but mostly spend my time at the cottage these days. No worries Verno, my head does look something like a sewing machine but trust me, I'm no Singer!
  9. Howdy Folks! First time poster, long time lurker...... Well, I've visited numerous boards and found this one to be the most entertaining. I guess a little about myself: Grew up in Thunder Bay, 21 years, sparked my interest for the outdoors. Currently living in Ottawa, have a cottage on White Lake, love fishing for Large Mouth Bass with my Lovley Wife and Son. Looking forward to posting outings soon. Stay Safe!
