  1. Great rod for the money! I'm pretty sure it's one of St. croix's top selling rods. Compre is nice too, unless your not a fan of the synthetic foam. If you wanna go crazy you can go a couple steps above and get the Rage, totally different neoprene handle (that doesn't get slippery when wet). Rod is extremely light and has the second smallest guides (next to microguides) such that you can still run knots through the guides without having it affect the casting. But if your set on the mojo, i'd go for it, getting a great product for what you pay for. 5 year warranty only covers manufacture defects!

    good luck on the choice!

  2. You can try going with a smaller diameter braid...something like a 20lbs,15lbs, or even smaller. The rule of thumb I usually go by is no more than a 30lbs braid on a spinning reel. The thinner braid will also allow you to cast further too.

    Hope this helps,

  3. Good Choice! I would've done the same, unfortunatly it seems that the lowered price point has also brought about the lower quality in the reel (go figure). Thanks for the heads up, I just don't understand why they would do something to a reel that has such a good reputation??? The chronarch should be much better and should handle more like an actual "curado" and hopefully better.

    Thanks!
