  2. I just purchased my 1st Garmin. It's the EchoMap 95sv plus which will go on my console I'm looking for a simple Garmin graph to pair up with my Terrrova US2 transducer. I really only need 2d sonar for now.. I'm just not sure which will be compatible and which cord I'll need to pair it up... Any help will be much appreciated..

    Thanks

    1. Hey all, I just installed a new Terrova 55lbs trolling motor on my boat. They also gave me the Copilot to add it to the trolling motor. My question is this.

If I install the copilot on my Terrova, can i still use my foot pedal ?? I haven't opened the copilot pkg yet because I've read that when it's installed, the foot pedal becomes useless. Can I use both ??

I like using my pedal as it leaves my hands free to fish. The remote feature is nice and all, but having it hanging around my neck and having to stop fishing to use the remote to me, just doesn't make sense.

Any input would be much appreciated.. If I can't use the foot pedal at the same time, I'll just pass on the copilot and sell it to someone who would use it..

      Thanks

  4. The units are much closer to what I said before,..  When you add the upgraded ice ducer to the Striker 4, it's almost the same price as the Striker 5CV that already comes with the upgraded Ice ducer...

    Striker 4 portable 199.99  +  169.99 for the W8GT Ice ducer + 42.00 shipping

    Striker 5 portable 399.00 +  38.00 shipping

Not mentioning where, but this is what I have found..  Yes, in Canadian funds

  5. Hey all, Need some advice as I'm trying to get back into doing a little ice fishing... I've come across a couple good deals on the Garmin Striker 4 portable and the Garmin 5cv plus portable...  They are from what I've been reading are great little units for the ice..  They have great reviews..  The striker 4 come complete, but they recommend upgrading the ice ducer to the G8 or GT15.. something like that.. Where the Garmin 5vc already comes with the upgraded ice ducer.. When you add it all up, the 5CV costs to about 40-60 dollars more depending on who you buy it from..

So , Which do I choose and why ??   I'm leaning on the Striker 4...

    Thanks in advance.

  6. Ok... just picked up my new tires and rims... Went with the radials.. They look great.. can't wait to put them on the boat..

Now... Is it better to store them in the garage, or in my basement where it's warm ???  I saw another post on storing tires but these are trailer tires and won't be put on till April...

    Thanks, Tiz

  7. Thanks...  It seems to be a nice boat..  Owning Princecraft boats for most of my life, I sold my Pro 177 bass boat this past August and this came up.. I was originally looking at a Lund Impact, but it sold before I could get out to see it..  I opted out for a full windshield this time around.. At 53, I'm not getting any younger and my wife is happy with the boat as she will be protected from the wind on those cool mornings..   My first 4 stroke motor too.. Never have been a big fan of them, but I was very impressed with my nephews 90 Merc 4 stroke while out in his boat this fall.. So quiet, shifted so smooth..

Time will tell... I'm rigging it up the way I want in the spring with a Terrova and some new electronics..    Can't wait...

I ordered the radial tires from Jenson Trailers on Friday..  Thanks for all the input everyone.. Very much appreciated !!!!

  8. Hey there everyone... In need of some advice from anyone who has changed over from Bias Ply to radial tires on their boat trailer... I've come across some nice aluminum rims for my trailer and looking to put some tires on them.. I currently have ST185 13D (Load range C Bias Ply) on the factory rims from Shorelander..   Should I go with the same type of tire for my new wheels or go Radial..  The radial will be the same size 8 ply..   I'm concerned about the sidewalls and whether the radials will give me a good tire life..  Anyone swapped over to radials ??   If so, how have they been for you ??

I'm just not sure about the radial tires.. Even though they are cheaper..

Battery I'm using is a fully charged deep cycle...  I found my answer...  It's a grounding issue.. The battery has to be on the floor..  What also worked is if I plugged in the transducer or just touched the ground on the battery with my hand... Weird..  I've learned something new today..

  10. Hey everyone... I'm looking for some info or advice on my new unit as it seems to be defective out of the box ?? I just bought it and went to power it up on my dining table.. When I powered it up, it powers up ok, but then flashes off and comes back.. Then I noticed a orange line thru the screen and it clears.. This is all happening while it boots up.. Then it it says it's loading the maps and another screen comes up asking which language ? I try to press the English and nothing.. I try the little X to remove the screen and nothing.. I keep pressing at it and it finally works...

There's more... It seems really really slow... The touch screen works and doesn't work.. I touch the menu buttons to set it up and still nothing works.. it's like it's taking it's time.. I'm confused and not sure what to do.. I've contacted Lowrance today but they're closed for a meeting.. I can't even see the scroll on the right side of the screen so I can access the entire menu ???

Will they help with this ??? Could it be anything else I'm missing here... I have the Elite 5ti and it performs way better than my new 7ti.

Any help, advice, tips... anything would be greatly appreciated here..

    Cheers,
    Bill

  11. Fished at the camp from 1988 till just before Dave's death... After his sledding accident, he wasn't the same.. Last time I was there, it was starting to get run down.. Dave's boat broke down on our way back . Puttered in with the kicker.. Walls on the cabins were full of holes.. boats were not clean and so on... I loved that place and went every spring for pike opener... I remember my first time there... Took my own boat in.. got lost.. hit many shoals and decided that this wasn't for me...lol Went back the year after and used his boats, They were fun times and fishing was one of the best ,if not the best I've encountered... 40 pike in a weekend and the smallest being 6 lbs.. Walleye were tough, but when you caught, you caught some beauties... Caught my PB pike there.. 23 lbs and I'll never see another one... I miss Georgian Bay Camp.. Miss Dave and all the great stories and laughs we shared... RIP my good friend...

  12. Spoke to Rogers yesterday wondering why it was removed as I just looked over our bill... He said that they make changes to channel packages from time to time and WFN wasn't viewed as much as others... I asked are they compensating anything of the channels missing from my Adventure Pkg I pay an additional 10.00/month for ?? Hope, nothing... Welcome to Rogers.....

  13. Wow.... I spent many a days there chatting with Ron as I worked close by.. I also spent many dollars there.. He gave me great deals..Incredible guy who shared his knowledge and gave me many many tips on lakes.. I miss those days.
