Hwy 11 or 17??

Leaving from Sudbury pulling a trailer and have my powered kayak ready to go. Trying to drive for 5-8 hours, set up, fishing the next day then do it again. Trying to find resources and experiences. Go 11 or 17? Then going west. Any lake recommendations? Spin or fly? I'm very open to suggestions.

Hwy 17 is certainly a more scenic drive than 11. The stretch from the Soo to Nipigon is the prettiest drive this side of the Rockies. Lots of rivers to fish along the way (Brookies this time of year)...the Steel and the Nipigon both deserve stops. As for lakes, good Trout lakes in Lake Superior PP, and plenty of Walleye/Pike lakes in the Wawa and White River areas..

The drive up 17 is better but you'd probably have more fishing opportunities up 11 (But the drive is so frigging boring).

Highway 11 is boring but flat. Much easier drive on 11 because it's flat and easy to pass the transport trucks. Highway 17 is much more scenic.
