moses Posted July 29 Report Posted July 29 Opened up my jig head tray to find all my jig heads rusty. I assume some wd40 would remedy that. Any suggestions. They are in a plano box. Should not have happened.
colin519 Posted July 29 Report Posted July 29 I keep silica gel packets in with my crank baits. I also got Plano Edge boxes which have an insert to help keep things dry. I find this happens when it’s rained on a trip but I don’t take the time to clean and dry the box afterwards. 1
Barry Willis Posted July 29 Report Posted July 29 I would not worry about it, take a few casts and see what it produces. something different is sometimes the key. Take a few casts, have some patience you might be pleasantly surprised. 1
CrowMan Posted July 29 Report Posted July 29 Make a mixture of dish soap, vinegar and baking soda. Soak your rusty jigs/lures for 20 minutes. Rinse with fresh water. Sharpen the hooks, if they're rusty they're probably not sticky sharp. 1 1
