misfish Posted December 11, 2020 Report Posted December 11, 2020 Maybe I will buy 2 of them and build fat skies for the front tires . What say Terry, fun project .LOL
Fisherman Posted December 12, 2020 Report Posted December 12, 2020 A number of years back they had 2 trucks equipped with similar ones, turned out to be a massive money pit and then sold off on auction to Manitoba Hydro. 1
DanD Posted December 14, 2020 Report Posted December 14, 2020 Just pulled my little guy out of storage. Get some maintenance done, fit a set of skies to the front wheels and wait for the big freeze to come. I was going to wash it; but then though there's no sense to polish a turd. LOL Dan. 1 2
DanD Posted December 14, 2020 Report Posted December 14, 2020 Yeah you mentioned that last winter. Going to take your advice; you have much more experience doing these kinds of things then I and I'm not shy to say thank you. Thank You Terry I already have a pair of steel skies off of a Skidoo; that I used on a small wheeled tow behind trailer. Going to change it up a bit, by removing the upside down fender (where the trailer wheels sat) then weld a steel rim to the support legs. It'll be drive to the ice or snow pack, removing the wheels and bolting up the skies. My 18 Volt impact driver will make short work of that. Sorry for the hijack Lew. Dan.
