Crazy battery prices

Picked myself up a simple Canon Point & Shoot camera today and thought I'd buy a spare battery for it and couldn't believe they want $75 for it. I checked several camera shops in the area and they're all basically the same price.

Crazy stuff for sure.

Lew, you can buy an offbrand from Amazon.ca.    Just search the model # NB-13L and you'll have a bunch of choices.

Amazon, got a 2 pack battery and charger for my Canon camera for about $25, did the same thing for my Go Pro.

Thanks boys, but I read some reviews on those Amazon knock-offs and it seems as if they don't work well in the camera but I'll look into the ones you linked to.

These are the ones I got made in Japan so not the chicom stuff.  they have the same power specs and last just as long as the original Canon ones.  https://www.amazon.ca/Wasabi-Power-Battery-Canon-NB-13L/dp/B00VXO5B56 

Also has a 3 year warranty.
