captpierre
Hi Gents. Just winterizing my 2007 Yammy 115 4stroke. Looking at one spark plug. The one on the left. The end is pretty black compared to the other 3. Minimal carbon in the gap. I check them every fall and spray some fogging oil into cyclinder. Then turn over for few seconds before replacing plugs. I think this is the number 1 (top) plug. They are about 5 yrs old. Do I have a problem in the head or is this normal? I know I Should probably replace them. Thank, Peter
misfish
Seems to be some carbon build up. Not burning hot enough ? Maybe wire is faulty or even have a bad cap plug ? Not sitting tight on the plug . The others look normal.

captpierre
Thanks for the advice, Guys. Glad to hear I don’t have a big problem. Engine runs like a clock. Always glad to be able to ask members questions. We have lots of talent on this board 👌
AKRISONER
i personally would change out my plugs for some new ones especially if you fog your engine. Starting it in the spring can foul your plugs up pretty bad when it burns up your fogging oil. I do new plugs every year, i start the boat on the old plugs in the spring and then swap for new ones. Im crazy..but 5 years id recommend throwing new plugs in and see what happens.
