Bobcat in my backyard

Recommended Posts

The wife saw a Bobcat last night looking through our back door.  We have all kinds of critters come around every night, but this one was unexpected.  We live between Brantford and Simcoe and was just wondering if I should notify the ministry of this?  Thanks

When I was a kid we had a big 'cat' in the tree at the end of the driveway up in Haliburton.  So yeah they are out there as that was close to 30 years ago.

Good day   So as we all have a bit of cabin fever the family decided to make a bit of maple syrup   Looked and found that home hardware sells a 5 pail kit with taps and lids for $40... For $40 I figure it's about the same as going to the movies so if we have some outdoor fun and get a few litres of syrup it'll be money well spent   So we got the kit and tapped some trees at our cottage   We put 2 pails on the biggest maple and single pails on 3 other smaller maples... all the smaller t

    • Possible bobcat sighting

Driving home from my favorite Kawartha lake late last night (around 100am) when a very, very large cat ran across the road in front of my truck. This was east of Beaverton.   I see coyotes and bears up there all the time and I KNOW it wasn't one of those.. I don't think it was large enough to be a cougar, and it didn't have a long enough tail.   Had anyone ever seen a lynx or bobcat this far south before?

UPDATE:   I took a break from making ATV trails (so close to the river now!) and decided to throw a few spinners. The water was down and the fish were in shallow current. This is the biggest spec I've caught in this river, and maybe my 3rd or 4th biggest ever. The fight was incredible in 1.5 feet of water in high current, just like fighting a small rainbow in the shallow creeks.   Estimated at 15 to 16". Released. He (?) sat in a quiet pool for about 8 minutes before swimming away... I reall
