"new" option for water conditions

Recommended Posts

You can get water condition updates right to your phone via buoys placed around the Great Lakes right now. Some inland lakes will be getting them in the future.

Our closest Canadian buoy is Port Colbourne. I have been monitoring it for years now. I know when we have a superstorm when the info from that buoy stops transmitting.

Send a text to 866-218-9937 noting the marker buoy number in the message line.  That is all you have to do and you will receive back an immediate reply noting the current weather and water conditions at the marker buoy’s location.

This sounds like a lot of work lol. Suggestions?

Surface temp this morning 69. This evening 72. Fishing was tough today. Had a young loon hang out next to the boat for about 5 min. Checked me out. Swam under and checked again. No fear. Didn’t reach for phone/camera in case he spooked. Great experience.
