Highway 144

If anyone is traveling between timmins and sudbury check for closures before you leave.  There is a fire burning close to the highway and it's been closed and reopened a couple times already.

Looks like a nuclear bomb went off. Cool picture. Of course, I hope everyone is safe.

I am familiar with that highway. It's one of my favourite highways of the north.

Chris, it’s mine too, in a certain way.  I was putting a Tourism book to press years ago and we get a call from “someone” late at night, I was not involved in the call, only production “I want that Highway on the map”!! What is going on here?  Press time and correction cost thousands. we had a standard Ontario map we used  with major highways but all of the sudden a “let me look good” person  who pushed for  the road decided the map had to be changed, never mind the cost, the map got changed. Lost little sleep on that one.

No closer to gogama still out of control but has been reduced from 6000 to 4000 hectares.

I read earlier today that they had voluntary evacuations  up near Gogama. My cousin has a cottage up that way.
