bigugli Posted May 24, 2018 Report Posted May 24, 2018 Things are finally greening up around here. Ground is finally drying up. Time to get planting. Garlic is doing great.
smitty55 Posted May 25, 2018 Report Posted May 25, 2018 Yea your garlic looks at least two weeks ahead of mine, but I would expect that seeing as where you are compared to me in Lanark. I'm curious though as to what benefit you get from growing them in a greenhouse apart from an earlier start? Do they also mature earlier or do you get them bigger from a longer season. Cheers
OhioFisherman Posted May 25, 2018 Report Posted May 25, 2018 Nice! My gardening has been limited to ordering tree seedlings for my son to plant for a lot of years now.
ketchenany Posted May 25, 2018 Report Posted May 25, 2018 A bit of wine helps out too. Angelo would be proud to see he’s contributing to the cause.

Cheers Actually, there is no cover on the hoop house used for the garlic. I know some farms that do plant a small covered crop to get a 2 week head start on the competition. We do leave the side walls to keep the wind down and the critters out.
