Navionics Great Lakes app

Recommended Posts

I bought the Navionics Great Lakes maps like 4 or 5 years ago for $15 or so. Now the app won’t work because it doesn’t have an update available?  Anyone else navigate this?

As far as I know you are SOL.

I was in the same situation very happy with my app (actually happier) but Navionic pulled the plug.

Its been awhile but I think they stopped updating it and it wouldn't work on the latest OS (Android/IOS).

There was an uproar from paid loyal users having to buy the same product twice but Navionics used a excuse like "Navionics Boating is a new product" etc. and the other versions should work fine.

They didn't and we had to buy the same maps again and suffer in-app purchase ads popping up all the time.

We also now have to "login" with network access for some accessibility and re-load maps etc.

Yes there are some nice options on the new Navionics boating but for a lot of us the older version was fine.

So Navionics solved piracy problems and switched to subscription based $$$ by going to Navionics Boating.

Don't get me wrong,  I went ahead and bought all the newest versions but it still had a sour taste...

Me too. But the new version has better features and you can download all of US and Canada if you want and update maps for a year.  Navioniscs is till one of the better systems and the sonar charts feature is pretty cool for finding structure.  worth it to me.

Man that sucks!  I’ll wait till later in the season to try out the free trial. Looks like they just added on weather and a bunch of other stuff but same maps as before.   Frustrating but not surprised.

    • Great day of laker fishing!

I finally got a chance to scoot out on my own. Brought the GoPro with me for the first time this season. What a blast! It's kind of nice being on the rod instead of the net for a change.

    • carp fishing kawartha lakes/London area.

Hello, thanks for letting me join. I’m from England but I’m coming out to Canada, Ontario for 2 weeks in September. It’s not a fishing holiday but some fishing will definitely be happening. Has anyone got any advice on areas I should visit to try and catch a better carp as when I was out before caught lots of smaller ones so wanted to try and get one over 20lb! Also advice on what licences I need would be great. we are staying a few days in London, then travelling to the kawartha lakes area

    • Great Week on Nip/Upper French

Another great week at Sandy Haven Camp on Nip/Upper French.  Been going there for over 35 years and its about as good as it's ever been.   Three generations of Dietz boys hit the Nipissing grand slam.  Boated two muskies, had hooks in two more and numerous follows.   The walleye bite was hot with 40-50 fish days and limits of keepers.   Bass fishing, smallies and largemouth, was real good too.   That place is on fire!

    • Great day at Rice Lake

Hey everyone  We had a great day at Rice lake,  walleye cooperated from the first light, and I was happy to see my buddy getting his first Rice lake walleyes. Wind was there from early morning,  but it only did good for the eyes as they love a little chop. By 11 am we had the limit.  Cheers! Gino

    • Great Finds (NF)

Last year when I went South the place I rented didn't have a BBQ. I ended up at Wall-mart and found a little portable charcoal one for $14.99 US, bought a bag of briquets and proceeded to cook all sorts of things on it. It's not very big, perhaps 14" in diameter but it was perfect for two people and I have even managed to cook 4 decent size steaks on it at the same time. I liked it so much that when I got back home I bought two more of them ($19.99 at Wall-mart here), one for here at the house a
