Big Cliff Posted February 24, 2017 Report Posted February 24, 2017 Add the next line if you do. Only one line, lets see if we can finish it. The Northern Lights have seen queer sights,
ketchenany Posted February 24, 2017 Report Posted February 24, 2017 gees I never heard that out in the hallway! In a shop class one year we had a guy who was dense as a rock. The teacher told him "we should build you playpen", with out missing a beat he said "one big enough for the two of us."

Terry Posted February 24, 2017 Report Posted February 24, 2017 Robert Service would change the words if it was written today lol
Old Ironmaker Posted February 24, 2017 Report Posted February 24, 2017 Yea today it would be deemed as insensitive and politically incorrect. I don't know the rest and never heard of the first line either. One of the schools I went to didn't have hall monitors it had Correctional Officers. You didn't graduate you got out on good behaviour.
fishforfun Posted February 25, 2017 Report Posted February 25, 2017 Had to memorize this for grade 7 English, funny the things that stick with you when you're 60! There were strange things done in the midnight sun by the men that moil for gold.

bigugli Posted February 25, 2017 Report Posted February 25, 2017 We did not learn any of Robert Service's work. For us it was .... "the old lie, 'Dulci decorest et pro patria mori' ".
Old Ironmaker Posted February 25, 2017 Report Posted February 25, 2017 Ugli. English, Fin, Italian and Latin, what else? We certainly weren't in the same class. And you make a mean Salsa I hear.
