Sibling helped get Leaf Tv off the ground. Went to way too many reg season games. Playoff games were way less frequent of course. There's more Chris. I'm not a hater. I know for a fact that if we ever make the Stanley Cup finals (or lord forbid) win the cup that they'll jump right back on the bandwagon and claim they were a Leafs fan all along. ? How boring. Maybe I'm a masochist but because the Leafs have never won in my lifetime it makes it that much more exciting because if they do win it all it will be something special. If they Jays win a world series again, it'll be nice, but I've already seen two of those. Imagine how TRUE Chicago Cubs fans must have felt when they won in 2016........ oh and how many people must have jumped back on the bandwagon after the victory. People who say " I was a fan once" of any team in any sport will never truly understand what someone like myself or Chris is talking about and that's ok. Also I think being a fanatic and lunacy go hand in hand so that's not really an insult. Everyone is a fan of good things... hockey, food, fishing, weather etc. What a boring statement. When you are a true fan of a team, the highs are euphoric and the lows can crush your soul. I Personally wouldn't have it any other way. Stay off the wagon! I remember Leafs losing to Montreal in 1977 and 1978 ... that was crazy .. (Sittler, Macdonald, Salming) and then 92 and 93 (Kings and Canucks) ... (damn Gretzky) but my best memory was sitting under a tarp in Algonquin Park with Mike Borger listening to Leafs vs Bruins in 2013 on a little transistor radio ...we went speck fishing but it was no way we were going to miss the play by play ... every time the Leafs scored we were hootin and hollerin !! man we must have looked hilarious ... great feeling being able to enjoy that with another passionate fan in a place like Algonquin Park... 4 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

You would think that Montreal would be the mecca of the hockey world seeing that they have won the most cups but no, not according to the leaf fans!! Its Toronto!! This team is one playoff series and done. Seriously, 3 players making 10mil + eating up 40% of the cap space?? OH but wait the cap is going to 82 million next year so the leafs are good right? I like though that we can banter back and fourth and although I don't always agree with your point of view, the fact that you can back it up with statistics and information I respect that. You wouldn't believe how many people either think Tavares was a terrible pickup or wouldn't take McDavid if he wanted to come to Toronto in 5 - 6 years. I can't see the Leafs unloading that big of a contract for an aging vet without giving something up, and from Dubas' attitude at the trade deadline I can't see that happening either. The Leafs team will change but I still think it needs a lot more experience to do some serious damage in the playoffs. Heck, how many years did it take Washington to win their cup?
