bow slayer
picked up an old rapala lure over the weekend for a few bucks. Just wondering when did rapala make there jointed lures with a metal lip?
Headhunter
I don't remember them ever using a metal lip on their jointed lures, but that doesn't mean it didn't happen. I recall larger stick type baits, mostly oriented toward salt water fishing having metal lips, but not the jointed ones. You may have a decent find there... BillM
The salt water jointed Rapalas had a metal lip. We used those out on Lake O for salmon when I was younger.
NANUK
Rapala did and still makes jointed salt water sliver with metal lip, I don't know if that is what you are talking about. https://www.google.ca/search?site=&source=hp&ei=3XbHVrrpD4qte_K9k8gD&q=rapala+jointed+silver&oq=rapala+jointed+sliver&gs_l=mobile-gws-hp.1.0.0i22i30j0i8i13i30l3.3369.17334.0.21759.22.22.0.11.11.0.261.3953.0j13j9.22.0....0...1.1.64.mobile-gws-hp..0.19.1698.3.vIbWp460jjk#imgrc=fvOPMuoW9fLvJM%3A Edited May 31, 2016 by stonefish
OhioFisherman
I have a couple in the barn that have a metal lip, jointed, I got them back in the 1980's. I think they were intended as salt water lures, deep divers. They looked like something a walleye or pike would eat.
