Big Cliff Posted April 11, 2015 Report Share Posted April 11, 2015 (edited) When I came across the causeway at Port Perry about 6:30 last night Scugog was open around the causeway but it looked like there was still a lot of ice out on the main body of the lake. I was heading for Cooch today for one last shot on the ice but my American partner had to back out so I said no way on my own. Still looks pretty white. Highs forecasted in double digits for the rest of the month, so I hope to be out for specks and greys shortly after the Apr. 24 opener. Will be very tight. Emily creek is blown open as well as lower pigeon lake I even seen an osprey yesterday by next weekend she will be all gone !!!! DRIFTER_016 Posted April 12, 2015 Report Share Posted April 12, 2015 The approach at the entrance to the ice road on my lake is getting a tad damp. The portage is starting to get gummy too. Managed a couple of final trips to the cabin to drop off a bunch of rigid insulation and other items needed when the ice goes out. Ice on the lake is still 4 to 5 feet thick. Upper Buckhorn open as far as the eye can see from Gannon Narrows. South Pigeon partly open.
