lovetofish Posted May 22, 2007 Report Posted May 22, 2007 i get water flow out where the exhaust is, but not out through the head. how long should it take for the thermostat to open when running on hose water? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Didn't get to fish all long weekend because of this problem. thanks, lovetofish
BITEME Posted May 22, 2007 Report Posted May 22, 2007 first thing is do you have water going into the intake if you do it should be coming out the port right away if not change your impeller dont keep running it like this its not a hard job to do
lovetofish Posted May 22, 2007 Author Report Posted May 22, 2007 (edited) i did the impeller already and i still can't get water flow. its not plugged any where because i checked all the passage ways with the hose. thinking i have an air leak some where in the housing or the gasket or water pipe gromet Edited May 22, 2007 by lovetofish
BITEME Posted May 22, 2007 Report Posted May 22, 2007 could be an air leak but not likley as you are forcing water to the impeller not drawing it i would double check the repair job
Entropy Posted May 22, 2007 Report Posted May 22, 2007 When I bought my boat I had the same problem, the marine mechanic told me to put it in the water put in in gear and take it to 1/3 throtle. It opened after about 1 min; the water was cold. He said it would not open (much if at all) when idling in the driveway. Hope that helps. Entropy
BITEME Posted May 22, 2007 Report Posted May 22, 2007 put it in gear in the driveway and yes it should open
lovetofish Posted May 22, 2007 Author Report Posted May 22, 2007 Thanks a bunch guys! I really appreciate the help! lovetofish
