davey buoy Posted December 27, 2012 Report Posted December 27, 2012 Mike you have had a lot of good advice,swap the battery and see what happens. Changing a battery two years ago it should not be done yet unless it was a bad one.
DRIFTER_016 Posted December 27, 2012 Report Posted December 27, 2012 Here's a question: have you removed the caps off the battery to check the electrolyte level? Yes even these so called maintenance free batteries need to be checked from time to time. You may find one or more cells are low. Top up with distilled water (can get it at shoppers drugmart). If the levels are ok, pull battery and put on charger then take into Canadian Tire and have them load test it. These steps will rule out battery issues.

Skipper D Posted December 28, 2012 Report Posted December 28, 2012 I put on less then 1000 cranking apm's in every thing we own here , some times you have to modify things to get them in but do it , their well worth it in the end and will out live any 700 cranking amp battery thats in most vehicles out there today .
lovetofish Posted December 28, 2012 Report Posted December 28, 2012 You could also try loading the alternator. With the truck running, turn on your high beams, blower on high with the defrosters on and let it run for a good 10-15mins. Sometimes it takes some load and time for the alternator to start dropping the voltage down. You could always take it to a shop and get an AVR test done and make sure they check for a draw. Shouldn't cost too much and it might be worth it, just because of the headaches you've been going through. LTF
